Does Mike Bell

Yeah, that's the article that was screwed up originally that they went back and fixed.

So how on earth if you are in Pitt's position do you decide to make your first game of the conference tournament essentially a bullpen game?

Good news, we saved both Andrade and Sokol for later this week.

Bad news, we have already been eliminated.

Seriously, unless both of those guys are hurt, how was one of them not pitching today?

So...does Bell get the boot?

No, I bet he will be back. The last two series of year probably saved him.

I turned it on with 2 outs, 2 strikes in the 9th inning. I wasnt sure the exact format but saw they were still doing the group thing and knew it used to be that the lowest seeded team couldn't advance unless they went 2-0 so I guess its the same. Knowing that, I would think that a team like Pitt, who is one of only 4 teams playing an elimination game in Game 1 would send their ace. Do we have an ace? Is he rested? I dont know.

I dont follow the program closesly. Used to a few years ago and their pitching decisions always had me miffed. I remember one season where they were fighing for a NCAA bid and had a weak conference team coming up on the weekend but a tough midweek game (WVU?) and I said they should have thrown their Friday pitcher on the Wednesday midweek game and then adjusted for the weekend because the midweek game had just as much if not more importance than the weekend game vs a weaker opponent. They ended up losing the midweek game and missed the NCAAT seemingly by 1 game

Bell signed an extension in 2022 that goes until 2027. I don’t think he was ever in any real danger.

Oh - well....they need to force a pitching coach on him.

Lineups have not been bad, but pitching has been a joke

The announcers both on television today and on radio yesterday (I am assuming they had difference crews for tv and radio for each game, but that could be wrong) seemed to think that the fact that we came in 12th place in the conference (after finishing 12th, 11th and 10th the prior three years) is reason to rejoice.

He's not getting fired.
