Capel has played him into to the ground and he's tired and lost confidence. When you're tired, it leads to lazy plays which makes it look like you aren't trying (like that drive, dribbling 30 feet away from the basket for 20 seconds then throwing up a contested three late in a game, etc.).

Remember, this game was with only one day rest -- that should have been a sign that Capel needed to go to the bench early. Instead, he waited until we were in a huge hole.
I don’t buy that crap at all .
These are 20 year old athletes .
They aren’t tired
Their defensive effort has been a problem all season and we are a bad rebounding team

Will it matter? Are there enough people to donate the money to make them competitive? Pitt athletics has gone beyond stale. I don't think Urban Meyer and Calipari could turn this Titanic away from the iceberg.
Calipari?

Coach Cal is already in the middle of the Atlantic, holding on to the wood panel, with hypothermia already starting to set in.

I think you're missing my point.
Lol. Sorry about that. I got your point. But I just couldn't resist at taking a cheap shot at Cal. I give him credit though. His former Cats certainly embraced the hog Saturday night.

I also can't resist an opportunity to use the expression "Embrace the Hog".

Do you watch this team? I don't think I have seen Corhen run up or down the court at full speed once this year. Unless his full speed is a leisurely jog. But he often looks gassed so my guess is that he is just not in great shape and is tired.

It is hard to sprint--I mean go 100%--all around the floor for 20 minutes of game time, let alone 35+ minutes like Lowe plays, no matter your age. You will get tired. Like I said, I am not sure I have even seen Corhen sprint once. Also, being 20 games into a season can wear on you when you play like Lowe does.

Why do you think the NBA finds it is beneficial to rest guys for entire games from time to time?

This is true. These guys are never tired. I hate when announcers talk about the fatigue factor, especially in playing in conference tournaments. Its not real. These guys can play 20 games in 20 days, all 40 minutes and not be tired. Sometimes you just play bad. It doesn't mean you are tired. Basketball, with breaks every 30 seconds or so, is not an overly exerting game to play.
