Getting crazy at the end. One thing I will say is that it's crazy how much they let you get away with when you're trailing at the end and trying to prevent the other team from inbounding the ball. Like, you couldn't grab guys that much in football, much less baskstball.

Man I wanted Duke so bad. I really liked this team and to me, much more likeable without sanctimonious coach K on sideline.

Flagg isn't nearly as douchey as their typical stars, so I was kind of pulling for the ACC and more appealing national championship.

In general I can't stand Duke. But when the ACC is down this badly it feels a little different, lol.

Agree but he is still going to be the #1 draft pick. No chance that he or many other Duke players decide to return for another shot @ an NCAA title

After Houston had that 6 point trip around the eight minute mark with the technical foul Duke totally folded. They only scored 8 points the rest of the game, which is hard to believe on a team with 3 lottery picks.

I know the feeling is Flagg has to take the final shot, but if I was a Duke fan I would’ve much rather had him drive and kick to Knueppel, who probably would’ve had a decent look with all the attention Flagg was sure to get.

Just watched that foul call again. That was like historically bad. You're talking about Duke being up 3 vs Houston being up 1. Huge swing with 19 seconds or whatever it was.

And then, like I mentioned, Houston was holding guys worse that Joey Porter Jr. on the inbound attempts.

There was so much that was not called throughout the game, and then there was that call.

I was saying the same about Flagg. He’s actually kind of likable and not your typical Duke douche. And he’s so good he would kind of deserve to be a douche if that makes sense?

Just terrible the Ref took over the game the final 10 minutes of what was a great game.

They did everything they could possibly do to get Houston back in the game abs it was surprising considering it was Duke.

What started changing the momentum was the flagrant flop foul call on the Duke player who by the way had no business being in the game, the Houston player went down like he was hit with a bat.

The foul called on the rebound was a definite no call, just a terrible call so late in the game.

On the final play Houston Robert's grabs Flagg on the shoulder when he turned to the middle and nothing was called.

That was beautiful. Alwaus overjoyed to watch Duke lose ESPECIALLY lose like that. Douchiest fraud fans in all of college hoops.

Duke benefited from calls when building their lead. Houston benefited late coming back but Duke make no mistake Houston took that game. Soared in for high offensive boards late, actually made their FT late, etc.

Florida had trouble inbounding as well and it almost cost them the game Refs allowed a lot of physicality as someone else mentioned

They won in spite of it, but I thought Florida got screwed all game. Clayton was getting hammered every time he took the ball to the hoop. He often scored anyway, but there could have been 3-5 and-ones on top of that.

All in all, though, two tremendous games. It almost felt like the NHL playoffs with the way guys were giving up their bodies and attacking the rim with no regard for their well-being. Tons of physicality on display.

Now we see that the dook coaching tree doesn’t only hurt Pitt. Look @ Hurley, Dawkins, Ammaker, etc… you can’t just roll the ball out on the floor and scowl like the rat used to do.

I can’t believe how many people here were supporting duke! Their fan base is one of the most arrogant in sports and they are every bit as unlikeable as the dodgers or Yankees (just throw a ton of money at people to get the best players). Other points:

1. People view duke as “better than the acc”. It doesn’t mean jack to the acc now or in the future if they win it all.
2. I was so sick about hearing only about duke and cooper Flagg this tourney. It basically has been overlooked Houston also has been just as good these past few months and Todd golden (who allegations were dropped btw) basically took a team that was ranked in the bottom of the top 25 to start the year and won the strongest conference tournament ever. Walter Clayton junior is really freaking good btw, and has been clutch this tournament.

So glad those pricks at duke lost and their fans can go back to watching the torpedo bat Yankees. I like different things about Florida and Houston and excited to watch tomorrow.

I agree

Houston did a 13-3 run in like the final minute and how the game ended was much like it began… when things got chaotic Houston took advantage

Flagg blatantly hooked Robert with his arm before that, which is a foul too. Both were marginal enough people would be complaining if they called either.

What Sampson has done in the last five years is remarkable. They play the way a lot of us wish Pitt could still play. Idk if any of you watched the videos of their practices before, but it looks nothing like the ubiquitous AAU ball everyone else is doing. They're diving for loose balls and fighting over a held ball like its the final four in practice.

Duke wore down at the end and that's expected when you have a young team playing against semi-pros. People need to get on board with having 5 and 6 year players - the SEC didn't get this good by scouting - they got good by doing what they do...paying...they do have pretty good coaches. The ACC better figure this out sooner rather than later. But living here in Houston, I'm absolutely happy with the results.

People rooting for Duke AND complaining about referees is just awesome.

I hear you. I think the ACC is just so bad right now we're looking for anything to attach ourselves to in fear that we're on the verge of becoming the Metro Atlantic

I still don't think the conference genuinely improving would necessarily be a good thing for Pitt. But its public perception could use a boost at the moment.

Screw Duke, their Cameron idiots, their subway fans, their dopey mascot. Screw them to hell. Unless they play UNC.

ACC lost Boheim, Williams, Coach K, Bennett, Brey. That's why the ACC is down as well perception of it. I understand the $$$$ part but can't lose these coaches all at once. JMO H2P

They were outphysicaled and their O the last 5 minutes consisted of Flagg taking tough turn around shots. And then they couldn’t even in bounds the ball. Tyrese Proctor outright stunk.
Coaching matters. Proctor is easily your worst FT shooter yet you bring him back in on offense after a timeout and sure enough he chokes on the 1 on 1. Gotta say though Scheyer drew up the perfect play for Flagg at the end. It just didn’t go down. Bye Bye Dookie V’s.

1 fg in the last 1030. No idea why Proctor was in the game. Foster should have got some time. Proctor was way off
It’s one thing to have an off shooting night, it’s another to turn the ball over, miss the front end of 1 and 1s and struggle to stay in front of your man defensively, all when it matters most. Proctor choked. And Schreyer did as well.

This. Love how they play.

If we're talking about bad calls, there were plenty made and plenty missed. One bad one missed, and it was at a crucial time, was when a Duke player had the ball go out of bounds off his foot and through the logs of a Houston player. The ball was given to Duke. Why no review?
