Fan base needs to empty its bank accounts. Money, and lots of it, is the only thing that will make the program better.
Since that won't happen, Duzz is your man.

Im not buying this.At the end of the day, the age-old principles still apply: if you recruit high school better, you'll have a better team.
We would never have a shot with guys like Louis, Biles, etc. out of the portal. But guys get to a school and form relationships and routines, so they take less to stay. I don't think the list of players who want to uproot their entire lives each December is lengthy (not saying there aren't any).
Narduzzi just isn't a great high school recruiter, and that has exacerbated our NIL problem. But some of that, in my opinion, is attributable to the low number of high school recruits he continues to take. Should be closer to 25 each cycle.

I think Pitt is stuck with such a restricted NIL budget. What is the correct strategy?
A) pay high school players as you suggest? Only to develop them with the best going to Ohio State?
Or
B) focus on portal guys that have tape at the college level, and pay them a number more than they are making at a lower division?
I think.....one of the reasons the recruits we are signing out of high school have crap offers is because we have chosen to pay the portal guys and there isnt much left to offer.
I wouldn't trust this staff with more money. Give it to Capel, he is a respected coach with ties to kids who might come here if we drop the right sized bag.Fan base needs to empty its bank accounts. Money, and lots of it, is the only thing that will make the program better.

Giving up on football is one approach.I wouldn't trust this staff with more money. Give it to Capel, he is a respected coach with ties to kids who might come here if we drop the right sized bag.
I think we should just move to the MAC where our overall talent level is a fit. We don't have to give up, although I guess you could argue going to the MAC is giving up. We haven't really been serious about football since Jackie Sherill left though, so nothing will change. It was sad that Toledo had the best WR on the field yesterday or maybe we just have awful defensive backs. Either way, we are MAC level, let that sink in.Giving up on football is one approach.

I've been saying this for years. It's business, so you need to treat it as such. Sign the max and process the sh!t out of them. It's all one year contracts. But some of that, in my opinion, is attributable to the low number of high school recruits he continues to take. Should be closer to 25 each cycle.
