Why don't we just play UPJ? I mean they are better and it would keep the money in the University system plus they would probably bus some students down.
Its not that any of this matters, but, IUP won their league last year. They are the preseason basketball favorite in their league this year. IUP beat Clarion by 24 points in game 1 and 16 points in game 2 last year. Pitt beat Clarion by 52 points without our best player playing this year.
IUP beat Edinboro by 9 points in game 1 last year and 12 points in game 2 last year. I expect Pitt to beat them far worse with or without Hugley and Jeffress.
Again, its not that the results above really mean anything. But Im going to maintain that I feel our team is underrated by a good margin assuming everyone is healthy. Pitt should win easily today, far easier than what IUP did against them.
I watch IUP games from time to time just based off where I live. The difference between someone like UPJ vs. Clarion or Edinboro is quite large. My main point was I don't know why we aren't scrimmaging them and tossing them a few dollars versus Clarion.
We scrimmaged UPJ a few years ago. Gannon last year, Slippery Rock in 2019, and UPJ in 2018.
Up 28-16 with 8 min left in half. Shooting better now. Like against Clarion, Federiko look like a better center option than G. Diaz-Graham.

Much better with Federiko in the post rebounding defensively and blocking a few shots.

Pitt's FG defense held Edinboro to 37% shooting, and this needs to be better

Cummings has 5 assist and 0 turnovers, great turnaround from last games turnover problems from him.
Respectable, not great, but respectable performance without Hugley and Jeffress. Pitt needs to tighten up the defense in the 2nd half and extend the lead. 2 games into the preseason, 2 games of good looking 3 point shooting.

Unfortunately, much like the Clairon game I don't think there were actually any numbers of importance in that game. Because Edinboro is, indeed, every bit as bad as Clarion. Which is to say really, really bad.
You mean Edinboro. Yeah, 3 and 14 were their only two decent players. You can see why both Edinboro and Clarion were picked to finish at the bottom of their conference.
Since Edinboro and Clarion are the same college, can they combine their teams? Maybe if they did, they can win the PSAC?
