Fede game time decision

Suspect he has been playing hurt or sick since at least the ND game. Maybe this was a re-tweek or bruise of an already sore knee.

Hugley’s advanced conference stats from last year show he’s an average offensive player and a bad defensive player. Per 100 possessions, Fede is much better offensively and defensively.

Pitt needs a healthy Fede. Not some fictional player Hugley never was

Some people simply do not understand the concept that guys who get you 15 and give up 18 don't actually help you win.

The guy who when talking about starting lineups a couple years ago said that he wouldn't even consider defense when deciding who should play is obviously one of them.

Yea but did you take the time to consider who might win that 1 on 1 game?

I stand by my 66-65 Pitt prediction because I assumed Fede wouldn’t play or be close to 100%. But one question is if he got injured against GT, why even play him against Duke in a game that wasn’t a must win? Sitting him would have actually provided Pitt with some rationale for losing even badly. Unless they didn’t want the committee to pull a Rutgers on them or he aggravated it against Duke.

Because it was a must win.

We were three seeds from being out. So had Rutgers and Clemson each won one more and UAB bid stole we were out (that’s just one scenario of many).

Given Diaz is a human foul machine, what the hell will be our plan to deal with their bull center without Fede when he fouls out or needs a rest? Is Santos going to be forced to play more? Hinson isn't a banger. This is not good...

We have two Diaz. 10 fouls
Not going to lie and pretend that I really know which is which, but the one doesn't seem like he can play center unless it's an utter emergency. Selfishly, I wish one of them could help me out with a headband or something. Hopefully, they ensure that I can tell them apart after tonight - and only for good reasons.

They should make them wear numbers on their uniforms! That would make them a lot easier to tell apart!

:p

The big question now is, how bad is it? Still want us to win tonight, of course, but hard to see any kind of a run with Fede out.

Not great if he’s missing the biggest game of the season for a knee injury. Have to believe it’s not just a bruise.
