I’m just reusing this old Clemson game thread. Ignore the first 10 posts because they are not relevant.

Tonight vs Miami, Pitt is 6 with the o/u 135.5. Who are you leaning towards tonight?

Hopefully the guys will be ready to play in the 1st half, unlike the first meeting. X has to limit his turnovers and bury his free throws. Remember when Trey was constantly attacking the rim and being rewarded at the foul line? I’d like to see some of that. His confidence seems really shaken.

On a side note, what do you all think of Clemson-4.5 and the o/u 131.5?

I think Pitt covers the spread tomorrow.
The losing streak continues. Take Clemson and the under.

I'm one that has learned the hard way that just because black has hit 10 times in a row, it's not necessarily the smart play to keep doubling up on red until it hits. It's not always due.

I don't think Pitt is due for a cover simply because they haven't for several months. They are playing without any confidence right now and Clemson's defense really seemed to bother them a few weeks ago. I do think they'll win another one at some point this year, but I certainly am not going to bet on it.

Looks to me like it opened at -4.5 and hasn't moved much. I'm not sure what book would put a number that far off out there.

This team would be really hard to bet on because they really struggle to score.

I believe I saw something where they haven't covered in like 12 or 13 games in a row which is unheard of.

I wonder what the line is going to look like Saturday? Is it possible for this team to step it up for the last home game? This will be the finale in Pitt colors for a few of the guys. Where did those kids with all the swagger go?

I would say it will be Pitt by 1 or 2 but I go with ND all day. This team is done and that's depressing. Sad to see them wilt this way. And, honestly, if not for JWF, these losses would have been worse than they have been. He's been the best player over this losing streak and he's a senior and Ndir has probably been the 3rd best.

After SLU, Iowa, Lou, FSU, it was so fun to see these kids play and easy to see what a successful future they would have but to be honest, this team is finishing the season Stallings-bad. It would be huge to get a win Saturday and even maybe on Tuesday against the 11 seed, which would be BC if BC loses to NC State, Miami loses to VT, and Wake loses to FSU.

Pitt is favored by 2 points with an over under of 134.

I haven’t watched ND play all year. I’m not sure which way I’m betting yet. Is ND effective down low? If McGowens somehow has a pulse Pitt could win. I expect Frame to be gunning all day. There are so many variables.

Notre Dame's big guy is their team right now and that just happens to be our greatest weakness. Look for Mooney, I think that is his name, to drop at least 30 on us. That should be more than enough dominance to give ND a W.

I am thinking about picking ND +1 for the first half. I really want to see Pitt win and this way I can root hard for the victory in the 2nd half.

I have never bet on 1st/2nd half numbers before. Say I put a wager on the first half. At halftime does the betting for that game reopen to lay down bets on the second half, or do all wagers need to be placed before the start of the contest?

Correct, 2nd half betting is for the 2nd half/OT scoring only. For wagering purposes the score essentially resets at 0-0.

Many books also offer in-game wagering now where the odds literally change continually throughout the game. As an example, Pitt is currently -140 on the money line. However if ND would get out to an early 10 point lead or something similar the odds would change and you could probably get Pitt at + money.

Mooney: 4 points, 1/11 FG

Close!
What can I say? He played like one of our bigs today. He must have blown at least 5 layups and couldn't throw it in the ocean today. His incompetence was the reason we got a W. I would be more impressed with you calling me out if you put yourself out there and said he was going to have a bad game. That said, I am happy to eat crow because we got a badly needed W.

Wasn't really trying to call you out. More like having some fun highlighting how poorly he played, and how awful he looked on his way to those 4 points. He did get rebounds. Didn't do much else.
