The Football Writers Association of America has selected its sixth "Super 11" group of sports information departments deemed the best in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision for the 2014 season.
The winners: Auburn (SEC), Bowling Green (Mid-American Conference), Colorado (Pac-12), East Carolina (American Athletic Conference), Iowa State (Big 12), Nebraska (Big Ten), Pittsburgh (ACC), Rice (Conference USA), Rutgers (Big Ten), UNLV (Mountain West) and USC (Pac-12).
 
wow... and here, after reading posts from our so-called fans, I thought EVERYTHING sucked and our athletic department was formerly comprised of nothing but stupid dolts??

Here is # 6 from the criteria used to evaluate

• A "no cheering in the press box" statement should be made in the press box before the beginning of each half of play. In addition, SID's should make every attempt to keep the press box quiet and escort disruptive individuals to the exits.

This is an acknowledgement of Pitt's Sports Information Department, which is headed by EJ Borghetti.

I don't remember reading anything on here critical of his work. In fact, many people have pimped that guy as an AD candidate. I think everyone understands that Pitt has an outstanding SID.

That is a good rule. One of the most annoying things in sports today is what blatant homers so much of the press has become. It has become less about journalism and more about entertainment - which basically means pandering to the LCD of your fan base. With that you end up with are a lot of clowns.
