Apologies for another FSU post but its inconceivable how dumb these cats are. I dont think most people realize that the Top 4 conference champs get byes. If FSU wins the ACC, even at like 10-3, they are pretty likely to get a bye over a 13-0 Liberty team. Now, yes, that would mean a really difficult quarterfinal matchup vs SEC #2 but you are already in the quarterfinal. In the SEC, its going to be difficult to make the playoffs and when they do, there isnt a guarantee they are going to win that 8/9 game or 7/10 game. And then they get a 1 or 2 seed......a tougher quarterfinal game. These dudes need to shut the eff up and see how this CFP works out for them.

It's going to be easier for them than anybody else, the talking heads and committees will be fighting hard to get 5-6 of them in every year.

You aren't kidding.

FSU would've faced Liberty in the first round and Alabama in the second round.

If they were in the SEC this year, they are at-best the No. 3 or 4 team.

Missouri got the 9th seed against Oregon and would've had to play Michigan in round 2. Ole Miss was No. 11 and would've been against Georgia in the first round.

Yea, if it were this year, they would have gotten a home game against Liberty and then Bama in the quarters. However, if you want to play the what-if game, lets assume the 2024 conferences applied this year and project out some outcomes. Could have been:

1. Michigan (B10 Champ)
2. Texas (SEC Champ)
3. FSU (ACC Champ)
4. Arizona (B12 champ)

FSU gets a bye and then plays 6 UGa. But maybe 6 UGa gets upset by like Missouri or someone like that.
