Played better today - looked like a team - looked like we knew what we wanted to do and mostly did it, though we did miss several really good open looks

Gave the game away - on points from turnovers and 2nd, 3rd and 4th chance offensive rebounds

Got the short end on officiating

Carr and Stevenson rekindled some optimism

Looks like Stallings has a new plan that currently does not include Stewart or Brown

After today, at least some indication we can win some OC.

- Most importantly, effort and hustle was much better today.
-We still have the same issues, sloppy play, poor D, no (NONE) rebounding on the offensive glass, and almost as poor on the other end
- Another big thing to me is giving our best talent, Carr, the opportunity to excel by
starting and keeping Milligan on the floor with him.
_ I think if we build on this we can win a few OC games..ACC, that's a whole other
challenge.
- IMO...these players get the majority of the playing time, Carr, Milligan, Luther,
Frame, Stevenson. Chukupa, (badly as I criticize him), and Davis off the bench.
Brown, Stewart, and the others small doses...bring em along slowly.

Agree, Gary. I liked quite a bit of what I saw our Panthers do today. I will say that I thought OK St was not a quick team, or good defensively and did not have much of an inside presence at either end. Having said that, when we were not turning it over, there was some really good screening, cutting, and passing that led to many layups and dunks.

Carr was impressive with his penetration and made alot of great passes off of it. I got to say, I don't remember the last time I saw a Pitt team get so many easy baskets inside.

The team needs to work on identifying 3 point shooters and closing out better after screens and switches. Mostly, though, they need to focus on rebounding, especially defensive rebounding. Had they rebounded their own glass slightly better today, they would have won.

The missed goaltend on Luther was a big call. We could have used that one. They also seemed to invent a few moving screen calls on us.

It does look like they are scaling down the amount of players they will use. Stewart and Brown were particularly weak defensively and may be benched for a while until they show improvement in practice.

I was encouraged by today's performance, however, as you said, it might lead to some OC wins, but we have mounds of work to do before I could envision even one conference victory.

This is what I want to see. Carr and Stevenson looked really good. Performances like that make you have hope that this team can make the NCAAT when they are juniors.

Good effort overall. This is the best we've played all year by far

They definitely looked better today although OklaSt being a somewhat lesser opponent than PSU has something to do with it.

This team surely needs some guys to step up and start making their open looks from the outside. It’s getting old watching the opponent consistently make their open looks and our guys, you can tell the shot is off the mark as soon as it leaves their hands.

At least today we were able to show some good movement and feed some guys underneath for dunks or easy bunnies. Unfortunately, whenever the guy had to do a little more, like take a couple dribbles before putting it up, they couldn’t convert. That hurt us down the stretch when we were trying to tie it up, Frame missed a layup and Ryan missed two, the second being the possible goaltending. And on 2 of those 3 missed layups, OklaSt got the long outlet pass for 2 at the other end. Two 4-pt swings prevented getting the tie or taking the lead.

And of course, there’s the rebounding or lack there of. Ryan giving up the offensive rebound off the missed FT at the end was the exclamation point.
