If, after game #4, I'd have told you that we would be one of the last 32 teams with a chance to win the national championship....
Yep. I think we made things very difficult for them. They were shooting poorly but we never gave them a chance to get in rhythm.
All of a sudden, that play-in draw is looking a lot better than a date with Creighton. Weren't they preseason top 10?

Can someone explain to me how was Iowa State a six seed? They were hot garbage.
Just maybe Pitt shouldn't of been an 11th seed.
Gotta love that game. All the talk about great defense wins games. Nonsense. Bad defense loses games, but you only win games one way....you put the ball in the hoop more then your opponent. If you can't hit shots, you don't win very much. ISU was horrible offensively. They made Mississippi State look like the Golden State Warriors.
The basketball gods caused that Mississippi State miss at the end. They knew Mississippi State vs Iowa State would be a 15-12 game that would make people gouge their eyes out.
And just maybe judging them on a one game sample size isn’t quite fair. They had a historically bad shooting game. Our D was pretty good, but they couldn’t throw it in the ocean today.
Glad they picked this one to play their level worst.
Many said before the tourney that the seeding Pitt got was a blessing in disguise A really good draw where Pitt matches up well with each team.

We’ve got to do a lot better though on offense. We only made 14 baskets, just like State. Thankfully the guys made 25/29 FT, and we even had two more rebounds than did State.
Just wonderful, though.

Get a black board and throw out some pi r squareds and a few derivatives and an integral or two to find the area under the curve and it is clear as day that it is justified by a fetzer valve...Come on man, do you need a refresher? its all ball bearings now...
Yep...said that early on in this game. I was like - if ISU can't score the ball, no way they beat us. Virginia has shown us over and over again - just having defense won't take you far in this tourney.
Had to miss the second half because of a doctor's appointment (they didn't even have basketball on in the waiting room). Heard the final on the way back home. Glad we recovered.
