The difference in coaching is... Pretty apparent, lol. Not that it wasn't obvious before this game.
Hinson's shot might have the least amount of arc I've ever seen. Is it even possible for some of these to go in? The law of physics says no.

Huggy's thugs going wild on us now. Embarrassing coach Capel and the Panthers on our home floor.
Losing sucks, but getting embarrassed on your home court against a rival is unacceptable.
I totally agree with Pierre. He texted me that he would kill to have Huggy as an alum and coach of Pitt. He's a special coach.
Not to throw stones at Capel, I mean you have likely 2/5's of your starting five out with injury, then your top 2 PG's saddled with foul trouble what's a brother gonna do??

We are now to west virginia what Duquesne is to us. Pretty much a gimme win. 6 in a row now for Huggy. One has to wonder if we ever beat them again???
There’s nothing that even the most optimistic fan can feel good about this ass kicking . Pitt has no chance without Big John , poor pg play and poor defense.
I‘m not going to throw in the towel this early w/o Big John , but man this was beyond disappointing .
Unless you really have a really special coach why give them such long term deals that cost millions to get out of ?

I'll venture an answer to your question.... because you're an AD who doesn't want to have to admit that your first significant hire was a complete disaster.
I had some hope heading into the season. I had even more hope at watching them run actual sets in the first game. When things got tough tonight they went ISO ball and didn’t move on offense.
There were multiple times they could have cut the game to single digits and made it a game. Instead of running an offense it was Dribble, dribble shoot.
This team has pieces and talent and I’m not giving up hope at this point lots of ball left to be played. However when the going gets tough they abandon what could work.
No reason to waste anymore words because that was a pathetic effort from the brain trust.

Let's be realistic here, WVU largely beat Pitt's 2nd team today. Basketball quickly becomes a miserable game to watch with incompetent refs.
She jumped the gun extending him way to early when it appeared to be a very good hire .
