They can’t afford top quality HC’s and assistants in either bb or Fb , but somehow they’re going to build a stadium costing well over 100 million to host 6 games a yr where they’d be lucky to get 40,000 to a game .

It’s not that they can’t afford to pay coaches it’s that the choose not to. Everyone is forgetting the fact that atmosphere makes college football what it is and Pitt’s atmosphere is subpar because the concentration of the fans at the game is so spread out. Also the yellow seats are ugly.

So they don’t choose to spend another 5/6 million a yr between both Fb & bb salaries , but they should spend what most likely would be hundreds of millions of dollars to build a stadium so it looks better on tv when there’s 30000 in the stands ? It seems to me a far better use of money is to do what it take$ to win and that’s with better leadership than to build an expensive on campus facility to play in for 6 /7 home games .
Winning is what’s lacking , win and the fans will magically appear , win and the atmosphere will be electric , & win and watch the revenues flow in . A nice new on campus stadium after they prove they can win and support such a hugh finnancial commitment would be wonderful .

The AD and Pitt administration must develop an effective marketing and promotion plan to generate interest and passion among Pitt fans for Pitt athletics. It isn't up to the fans to do that. It's up to the athletic administration. Once that happens and the right coaches are here that can recruit the right players and are backed by the right financials from the administration, all part of the plan, then attendance will increase. Then we can possibly start to think about a new on-campus stadium.

But the Pitt athletic administration hasn't done this in over 30 years. What makes anyone think they'll do it now? Especially now??!! We couldn't even get a basketball hire remotely correct after a largely successful run for 17 years. In football, we haven't been successful for over 30 years. My bet is that this will get worse before it gets better.

That isn't a solution. What buildings are you buying and knocking down?
