Hoped Pitt could catch lighting in a bottle

but it wasn't meant to be. Too much 1 on 1 on offense and too many turnovers.....but I loved the fight in this team and hats off to them for a fun season that none of us Pitt fans saw coming.
Agree - way too much of both. It seemed like it was a contest of who could take the most shots.

You guys might be surprised to hear this, but we averaged 11.2 turnovers per game this season. Today we turned the ball over nine times.

Yep. Too many turnovers and not enough assists.....all year...

Well we were 75th in the country in assist rate and 60th in the country in turnover rate, so if that's too many turnovers and not enough assists for the year you are likely not happy about assists and turnovers, well, just about ever.

The stats on Pomeroy's site go back to 1997, and the number of times out turnover rate was better than this year since 1997 is one. In 2015, when we went to the NIT.

You need a combo of skill and luck for a tourney run. Had Kennessaw won they may have had a better shot, but there is a reason Xavier was a 3. To beat Miss State and ISU in two elimination games was a thrill.
Yea it was looking like for a good bit there on Friday it was gonna be Kennesaw State instead of Xavier as they had them on the ropes down 13 with about 7 minutes left. Had Pitt played Kennesaw State today instead they probably win and move into the sweet 16 just wasn’t meant to he though. Still was a great year and hopefully a stepping stone for bigger and better things to come for Pitt basketball.
