First, here's the rankings next week:

1. Alabama
2. Ohio State
3. Clemson
4. Michigan
5. Washington
6. Wisconsin
7. Penn State
8. Oklahoma
9. Colorado
10. Oklahoma State

OK, the B12, P12, and B10 championship game losers are out. That leaves us 7.

Lets say Clemson loses. They are out. That leaves 6: Alabama, Ohio State, the B12, P12, and B10 champs, and Michigan.

Lets say Colorado is the P12 champ. Michigan beat them and has a better overall resume.

If this scenario plays out, it would be between Michigan, Colorado, the B10 champ, and the B12 champ for the last 2 spots. And remember Michigan beat both Wisconsin, Penn State, and Colorado.

I am wondering if even an 11-2 Wisconsin or Penn State can jump a 10-2 Michigan team who beat both of them and have a loss on a last second FG and in a controversial double OT.

Lets make this easy for you
There is Zero chance M makes the playoffs.

The more I think about it, I really think the PSU Vs Whisky game next week is a play in for the Rose Bowl. I can't see PSU with a win jumping a team that beat them by 40. I disagree on your rankings I thinking washington moves into 4. They beat the doors of a ranked opponent on the road. I'm thinking they take care of business against Colorado you can't leave them out.

If they were to stumble and lose I think Michigan takes their spot.

The Rankings this week will be

1 Alabama
2 Clemson
3 Ohio state
4 Washington
5 Michigan
6 Wisconsin
7 PSU
8 Oklahoma
9 Colorado
10 Oklahoma State

Alabama and Ohio state are in the playoff, Bama even if they lose the SEC title game.

Clemson and Washington control their own destinies... and if they win, nothing else matters.

If one of Clemson or Washington loses... Michigan could squeak in. but I think both Clemson and Washington win.

The fighting Pedos and the fighting Chrysts are battling for a Rose Bowl berth.

I never considered the Big Ten East getting 2 teams in, neither of which is the Big Ten Champion......but Michigan and OSU's resumes are so much better than PSU and Wisconsin's. How do you select either of those teams over Michigan, a team that beat both of them?

I think if a Colorado beats Washington convincingly... or if an Oklahoma beats OkSt convincingly... they could leapfrog idle Michigan.

But I think Psu/Wisc winner has very little chance.

I think half the field has been filled, Alabama and Ohio St are in. If Clemson and Washington take care of business they will be the other two. Everyone else needs help.

The Big Ten winner will move ahead of Michigan.
Committee won't rank two team from same conference above the conference champion. Just won't do it. Conference title has to have some meaning.
Not saying Big Ten champ makes the tournament. Will likely end #5 barring upsets.

Both teams in B1G title game lost to Michigan....and both have 2 losses.

The committee can most certainly have Michigan ahead of the Wisconsin winner.... and they should.

The committee's charter is to put the four best teams in the country into the playoff. Conference championshipso are just one of many resume points they look at.

Agree completely. I put the acc and pac 12 championship at both around 8 point spreads. Washington got a extra days rest and a easy win while colorado played late on saturday and now have to play on a short week on friday. Think VT might have the best shot at the upset. Think PSU beats wisconsin if they can keep the wisconsin lines from completely dominating. Wisky doesn't have any play makers other than clement. I expect they will still be able to run on PSU and get pressure but I think PSU wins that game. It will be close 21-20 type of game.

This

Is all one needs to know.

If Clemson and Washington lose it will be interesting to see who gets in out of Michigan, Clemson and the Wisconsin/PSU winner.

Michigan - 10-2, 3-1 vs top 10, 3-2 vs top 30, head-to-head over Wisky and PSU, last week SoS = 51st

Wisky wins -11-2, 1-2 vs Top 10, 4-2 vs Top 30, Conference Champ, last week SoS = 18th

PSU wins - 11-2, 2-1 vs Top 10, 3-2 vs Top 30, Conference Champ, last week SoS= 35th

Clemson loses- 11-2, 2-0 vs Top 10, 3-2 vs Top 30, last week SoS = 34th

Washington loses- 11-2, 0-2 vs Top 10, 1-2 vs Top 30, last week SoS= 65th

I doubt the Big Ten gets another team in because it's almost similar to the big 12 scenario in 2014. Say PSU wins, there will be a strong argument to make that they are conference champions and they should get in. But then Michigan also with 2 losses has a strong argument in that they absolutely manslaughtered Penn State.

I think it's Clemson and Washington now. Next two up would be ou/ok st. winner and then if Colorado beats Washington they could also move in. But it will be interesting to see where Michigan, Wisconsin, and PSU are ranked this week.

Washington caught a break when Colorado held on against Utah, otherwise, they would likely be getting another beating from USC this weekend.
Michigan beat Penn St. so convincingly that it would be hard to justify putting The Nits in ahead of them.

I'm not even going to watch the playoffs for sure, maybe I'll watch a little here and their. But it's too subjective for me, CBS Sports talking heads this morning calling for two or three B1G teams in the playoffs, totally unappealing. I'd rather see teams win a game (Like a conference championship) that puts them in, rather than some talking heads vote to decide who gets in based on their opinions. the NCAA D1 College football champion is the LEAST LEGITIMATE of any sport in the world. It's the only one not decided by playing games.
