Like I said, Jamie should have nothing but our best wishes. But I am excited. I really am. I am really excited to see who can be the next coach here, how serious we are. This ain't like football. It is a better job. You CAN win a National Champ here. You can be a Final 4 participant here.
Sure there is risk. But you cannot live in your fears. In many ways, that was Jamie's downfall. Hell, that was perfect for his last game, he lived his fears instead of going for it. And that is what a lot of Pitt fans have been conditioned to as far as our program and possible coaching candidates.
We can be Boston College. But maybe we can be Ohio State. Depends on the hire. I am also excited that Scott Barnes is our AD. He is connected. Basketball is his forte. We are coming at this at a much, much, much better and stronger position than when we were when we hired Ben and then hired Jamie. We have money. The buyout money will help even more.
