I guess you don't remember the Rutgers game when they torched our secondary and Wanny said he thought they would run the ball.
So you enjoyed 12 possessions and 6 TD, the others he took his foot off the gas. Good lord , Madden will give you excuse makers something to cry about Monday.

What are you even talking about? Wannstedt had plenty of crappy losses. 48 points to Navy and an OT loss. 52 points given up to WVU in consecutive seasons. 54 freaking points to Rutgers at home.
Wait, no, nothing bad ever happened under Wanny, all games were competitive. Like that 44-14 debacle in Virginia that started with a failed onside kick.

Long story short. If Pitt has a bad year, then another bad year next year , want to bet a million they go looking ? Not saying they won't screw it up, just saying.
You can add the losses to Ohio and Bowling Green to that resume as well. I guess that was acceptable to some people.
There is a much better chance that Narduzzi leaves for a better job than Pitt fires Narduzzi.
Turns Pitt around from what? He was 8-4 in his first 2 seasons. He beat Louisville, PSU and Clemson. This year looks like it could be a down year but is far from over. We are 1-2.
The OKL St game was horrendous, but we showed signs we could run against PSU and that has to be a source of encouragement. We really did not make much of an effort to run the ball today, early or late.
Can't imagine Narduzzi's stock being any higher than another mid level job at this point. The real rockstar to come out of all of this is easily Matt Canada. That and how much focus Conner drew. Thinking at this point the only reason Henderson succeeded on offense last year was because of the Conner threat requiring more interior defense.
No - you are minimizing the importance of Peterman, Aston, Orndoff, Biz, Dorian and the other RBs.
Henderson succeeded because Canada knew how and when to use him. He would have been even more effective had he not fumbled so much.

all of those were in 4 quarters and OT, correct? THIS DEFENSE GAVE UP 7 TOUCHDOWNS IN LESS THAN 2 QUARTERS, 400 yards passing in one half, FOUR RECEIVERS WITH OVER 100 YARDS RECEIVING! A FKING DISGRACE OF BIBLICAL PROPORTIONS!
I don't recall that being correct. No way his class was that high. At that point, Wanny's act was up.
He had a good class - Some highly rated - Some of those ended up at other schools with limited success

Wanny loved Pitt-/ we were competitive for conference title and he recruited better. If pat bostick was as good as advertised who knows what he would have accomplished. We never had a qb-- to his credit he recruited a "slam dunk"-- didn't work out.
The Cincinnati game was unforgivable-- but I for one miss Wanny. Being a Pitt guy goes a long way with me; he should have been given another year.

This is true. My buddies and I were so pumped; we were assured the recruits would not leave by the admin--- hardy har har. Todd graham claimed they didn't fit his scheme.... whatever. Wanny had recruiting cooking, coaching not so much.
Can't blame him for being a little bitter- especially after seeing the results of the 3 guys that came after him.
We would be better off right now had we kept him, gave him a nice recruiting budget and money for good asst coaches

Freddy Kruger is a head coach somewhere, some small school. I'm sure if he isn't cheating on his wife , or beating a girlfriend, he would come back. Pitt wouldn't know those details until after they hired him, but it doesn't matter. As long as the team sits up straight and looks forward.

The narrative that some of you are attempting to create is that Wanny was still recruiting well. He wasn't and was struggling for several years before he got canned. Here were his class ranks for his Pitt tenure.

2007 - 26
2008 - 28
2009 - 47
2010 - 33
2011 - 58
The recruits had caught on and realized Wanny was not a good coach. Stop pretending like he was crushing it.

He had a good class coming in the year he was fired - It fell apart - Some were not as good as advertised like the Rutgers QB and a player at Vir Tech.
