We play a team that we consistently out-recruit. Not by miles, but no question we add more players with big star counts every year. That team then blows us out for most of the game, but we come all the way back in the second half, then throw an interception in the end zone at the very end while down only 3--and basically in FG range--to lose it.

Doesn't that sound exactly like the "same old Pitt" and "Pitting" of a few years ago? Guess what, we're no longer that team. We're the one going up big and holding on with lesser recruits, and getting the interception to win it.

Thats the perception, but its mostly a myth. Pitt has won plenty of these type of games in the past 16 years. People only seem to remember the losses though.

Overall, I thought the talent level was fairly even. Pitt had an advantage in talent on both lines of scrimmage, and that is usually where the game is won.

A) But that perception is just it -- it was happening enough before Narduzzi that we started to notice it as a trend. Now that's not happening with any regularity, so the trend--in reality and perception--has reversed course.
B) You're right, the talent was fairly even, but I said they continually out-recruit us which is completely true. They get more guys with big stars every year, yet the talent is even by the time it makes it onto the field.

I love our future with Coach

That said....we were a drop from blowing this....and a catch on an xtra point from NOT blowing Cinci

I think overall, we will stack wins more consistently. But it's not that clear cut that we always blew it in the past, and will always come through in the future

Well, its because in most of our losses last year, we got blown out from the start and were never in the game. Maybe that was a new trend of something. Kidding.

But the Iowa game pretty much happened that way.
