Penn State actually didn't do anything this year

Would Narduzzi take that?
My original comment was in reference to the title of the thread. Unless they are going to hang a “National Semi-Finalist” banner then this year was like every other year for them.

So, did they do anything? Sure, they won a lot of football games. The record book still shows:

- Narduzzi ACC Championships 1
- Franklin Big Ten Championships 1

That has to feel great for them.

How well do you think the milk-dud would recruit if he was at Pitt??? No white outs. Less NIL$$. No 100,000 seat stadium loaded with branch campus dummies. Etc. I suspect he wouldn't do a hell of alot better than Pat.

Nowhere near as good as he does at PSU but Narduzzi may be the worst recruiter in the nation, pound for pound. And Franklin is probably at coaching than Narduzzi. Not going for a win from the 1 yard line against a terrible team is essentially an employment disqualifer. Its one of the worst decisions you can make in any line of work. Its an indictment on his intelligence.

Franklin took over a scandal-ridden dumpster fire. After 11 years, he still has his program relevant and competing at a high level.

Dixon inherited a solid Pitt program and sustained it for 8 years. By year 11, Pitt basketball was irrelevant again nationally.
Franklin took over a scandal-ridden Dumpster fire --- after realizing the opportunity that exists when neither anyone associated with Penn State nor the NCAA had any interest in putting anything above the success of Penn State football. And that includes the safety of children. There, I fixed that for you.

It was an opportunity to take over an existing cult that just needed a new leader.

A lot better. He took over a 2-10 Vanderbilt team and made three bowls on three seasons, including going 9-4 twice, and had a top 25ish class in his last one there. He's a big-time recruiter.

Except make it the National semi-finals....

Why do Pitt fans have to be so pathetically little brotherish?
Yeah. The premise of the thread is true and everyone across the country knows it It isn't Pitt fans' place to jump onto this. We look weak enough as is. All these PSU threads really seal the deal of how pathetic Pitt football is.

PSU is a totally different level than Pitt. If we played them every year, it would completely destroy Pitt's program. All we really have to root for is for all our rivals to lose. Being little brother to each of WVU, PSU and ND has crushed the fanbase. WVU has at least been competitive and fun recently. ND and PSU need to be put in the distant past. Pitt athletics needs a different identity ala Cincy vs Ohio St or Memphis vs Tenn.
