Interesting article on Bleacher Report about LSU and why they should go all in after Dantonio

Well, dont know about Frank Wilson's coaching chops, but he was making 1.5 mil as an assistant coach at LSU while he was under 40, so LSU certainly thought extremely highly of him.

Les Miles was only 28-21 at oklahoma state before LSU hired him. I dont think they hire Wilson either, but I also dont think it is out of the question. He would be better than half those guys in the vegas odd picks

back then when les was hired, things were different at LSU and their neighbor named Nick Saban was not yet dominating college football to the tune of 4 out of the last 7 national championships. This is a driving factor at LSU.

Wilson will not be the next coach at LSU, I will put money on it. He's currently 1-3 at University of texas San Antonio. Another on the job training coach. LSU doesn't have to go with on the job training and they won't.

The OP is not a troll. Dantonio's name has been tossed out there as a coach of interest. Most everybody thinks Herman & Fisher is who LSU really wants, but Dantonio's name has surfaced a lot in the next tier of candidates. Perhaps because LSU poached Sparty for Saban. Perhaps because Dantonio is seen as a damn good coach who probably has maxed out at MSU. It's nothing but media speculation at this point, and it may not be possible to pluck Dantonio from MSU. Who knows? But it is out there and it doesn't mean the OP is a troll.
Why the bad odds on Petrino? Do they think he's married to Louisville? He's a mercenary if there ever was one and along with Herman one of the few guys out there that has an offense that would give Nick Saban a lot of trouble.

If I'm LSU it would be Herman and Petrino at the top of the wishlist.

If Swann pulls the trigger on Helton at USC, Herman will take a long look there. I bet if he had his choice between the two he would take USC first.

There is some risk with him still, he's about 16 games into his coaching career. LSU went after Jimbo first last year. I fully expect them to take another run at him. Either way, Jimbo will get another raise.

Kiffin did a really good job at USC under the circumstances. How did the Sark/Helton thing work out for them?
Well, I wouldn't call 35-21 (17-12 in conference) a "really good job" even under the circumstances. Obviously, their AD didn't think that was a really good job either. Sark/Helton has been a mess, but we're not talking about them. I just don't see the infatuation with a guy whose Head Coaching college coaching win % is a little better then 60% coaching most of his college years in the relatively soft PAC 12. Miles was 77% coaching in the SEC AND had a NC. I'm just not seeing Lane Kiffin as a step up from Les Miles. But hey, no one at LSU has called me too ask my opinion.

If they come after Duzz, Pitt should make a fair offer to keep him, if its 3 to 4 million a year, and he still goes , then bye! But now Pitt needs to pay that 3 to 4 million to another coach, and you can get some top level coaches for 3 to 4 million these days. You can't get a proven coach and staff lowballing people. You have to pay upfront for big boy football these days . Pitt needs to understand this, I'm sure the new guys and girls do.

Cliff Kingsbury is getting over $3million per year.

EXACTLY , we scream about Pitt paying/spending more these days, but we are still bottom half of spending. We need to try or not, this half asssed crap is getting old , real old.

You wouldn't call 35-21 record a good job when he basically played with 50+ scholarship players during most of his tenure?

LSU is not about to hire a sixty something coach with a heart problem

I see Coach D hanging around for a max of 5 more years. He has a great working relationship with his AD (Mark Hollis) & school president (Simon). And as a head coach, you can't put a price on that. As you mentioned, he's 60 years-old with previous heart trouble. MSU is his destination job. He's content & Spartan fans are ecstatic with his results. When all is said & done, Dantonio could go down as MSU's best football coach of all-time.

Narduzzi makes $2 million here.
Dantonio makes $3.7 at MSU.
Does anybody really think MSU is going to pay a raw HC Narduzzi the same money they are currently paying Dantonio? He would probably get an offer similar to what mushmouth got from Wisky....2.3 - 2.5 range. I can't see him leaving for 500k or Pitt not even matching the offer. You guys worry too much.

Why on earth was all the Franklin poor records deleted off this thread????

Is Bwi running this board now? You guys allow this total trolls to post all the time and when someone post sensible data it gets deleted??
