Is it time or even past time for Tom Brady to retire?

I can't believe how absolutely awful Tampa Bay's offense has been mostly this entire season. I know his offensive line is playing several replacements due to injury, but, he is missing many simple throws. Plus he ruined his marriage by staying in the league this year. It is hard to believe they can still qualify for the playoffs, but any team with a solid offense would destroy them. He better hang it up after this year, it is hard to watch a 1st ballot hall-of-famer hang on to long and really tarnish a fabulous career.

I’m willing to bet his marriage was on the rocks long before he decided to return.

His team is garbage this year and his coach isn’t very good either. Lucky for them they play in the NFC South so they’ll likely get a chance in the playoffs.

Seems to be the type of guy with no post-nfl life planned. Like why keep playing?

I thought Bowles got a raw deal with the Jets and would prove them wrong if he got another shot. I’m ready to admit I was mistaken as he has stunk it out with the Bucs this year. Often seems to freeze on the sideline when he needs to make a move, and when he does it’s the wrong move at the wrong time.

Not a great year for a potential Byron Leftwich candidacy either.

He’s going to play one more year, but it won’t be in Tampa. The Bucs are going to be really awful again.

Tampa Bay's problem is not Tom Brady, it is todd bowles. Quite simply, he is not a good Head Coach. I am sure that he gave Byron Leftwich guidance on how he wants his offense to be run.
His NYJ teams sucked and now that he has been given the reins in Tampa, they will suck as well.

A lot of QBs really declined this year. Brady, Rodgers, Ryan, and Wilson all either fell off or just look done.
May I point out that, Aaron Rodgers lost what any consider to be the leagues best WR in Devante Adams. Add to that, his current OC seems unable to find plays that gets the ball into the hands of the teams best offensive player at this point, Aaron Jones.
In defense of Russell Wilson, he changed teams and the new OC in Denver sucks. Sprinkle in the fact that the Bronco's HC, Nathaniel Hackett is horrible, Wilson is in a no win situation.

There are a few teams that are built to win now but need an upgrade at QB. There were rumors of him to Miami last offseason. I could see that happening. Tua looks really good at times but I think his limitations are too great at the moment for them to really contend.

Or maybe one last year in NE?

Tennessee and NE were two teams listed as possibilities. San Fran has to be an option as well. That’d be the best spot by far.

Depends on what Purdy can show in the playoffs.

Jimmy G could land somewhere decent as well. Could see him having success in any of those places, namely NE or Miami.

Brady can still play. Tampa Bay is just arguably the most poorly coached team in the NFL. He looks perfectly fine when they play hurry up mode and pass the ball. The rest of the game the OC calls run plays every 1st and 2nd down despite having the leagues worst rushing offense.

I think Brady will go to Las Vegas or San Francisco for one last year.

Brady has thrown 671 passes this year, versus 341 rushing attempts for Tampa. And his yards per attempt is 6.2, which is next to last in the league. He has made a few late game comebacks, but otherwise, he is not good. And is making $30 million.

Overall, the NFL sucks. Very few teams or games worth watching unless if you have money riding on the outcome.

The stats that you just used, can you prove that they are a result of Tom Brady's poor performance or having an inept OC and a terrible HC?

Nope.

I say let him play until he embarrasses himself…

Let him play until he is mocked and ridiculed for hanging on too long….

Let him play until he becomes a running joke on late night monologues….

Let him play until his teammates grumble and wishes he would retire…

Let him play until his teammates yell at him on national TV like he used to do to them…

Let him play until he tarnishes his legacy…..

That conjures up images of Willie Mays stumbling around the outfield when it was apparent to everyone except Willie Mays that he was no longer Willie Mays.

The most underreported thing we've learned about Tom Brady is that he was so desperate to win, he brought Antonio Brown down and moved him into his home only to find out that his wife liked having AB around more than he did. She dumps him, makes him look like a self-centered fool, and keeps turning up in pictures with AB.

If you really dislike Tom Brady, you have to love that story.

His stats are what they say they are. Of course they are a product of the team he is on, just like they were when he played for the Pats. His QBR is 23rd, just ahead of Pickett at 24. That is the neighborhood he lives in now.

Two things can be true: 1) the Bucs have no running game and a weak OL; and 2) Brady has fallen off a lot from where he was even last year.

#2 isn't insulting. Father time catches up to everyone, after all. I think it's silly to pretend like Brady still has it. He won a Super Bowl in Tampa on a completely loaded roster. He's been terrible this year. Look at the QB neighborhood he lives in: Mariota, Dalton, Russell Wilson, Mac Jones, Tannehill (no weapons), Aaron Rodgers (old, no weapons), Herbert (broken ribs and no weapons). He has an adjusted net yards per attempt under 6, which he hasn't done since 2003 when he was a true game manager and you could decapitate WRs; the lowest TD rate of his career; the lowest QBR; the highest sack rate and a bottom 5 passer rate. He's not going to find another team like the 2020 Bucs to step into unless it's the 49ers. It could get really, really ugly for him next year if he goes to a place like Tennessee or Vegas. Even New England would be a step down IMO unless they can convince some free agent WR to go there.
