1.) is anyone happy with the performance of Pitt bb this season ?
2.) is anyone happy with Pitt bb for the last five years ?
3.) is there a reason to believe that Pitts fortunes would have improved next season under JD ?
4.) if Pitt received money in the buyout then leaving was Jamies choice. There's a privately owned golf course in Fl that wanted to sell the course to its members for 6 million and the members refused. So along comes a presidential candidate that got paid 6 million to take the same course off the hands of those same owners. So if Pitt really wanted JD gone why would TCU offer Pitt any buyout ? Are they that stupid to pay Pitt millions for a guy they didn't want?
5.) instead of fighting to fix the current state of Pitt bb JD left. Is this the guy you want as your coach?
6.) is the program better now or when he became the HC ?
I was disappointed when I first heard the news ,but after thinking about it what happened was for the best for all parties How it works only time will tell. Remember Ben who. Chuck Noll or was it Knox, Joe who or what about Jamie Dixon.

One of the biggest problems of Jamie's tenure here is it almost was assbackwards how things usually go. Usually you start off and build and make small incremental improvements to a point where you either win championships or become desired by other programs. Jamie started out to a high level, took it a notch higher, then started to fall back, somewhat precipitously. Then Jamie's Alma Mater called, offered big money and zero expectations where an NIT berth would be celebrated and decided to take the least path of resistance.

Everyone thinks he's going to a no pressure job I don't , they paid him a lot of money ,they want results. He'll have some breathing room ,but if nothing's improving in year three there will be heat.

Except improving is making the CBI next year.

Agree with all of these. And my answer to #4 is: Yes and No. I think Pitt would have stuck with Jamie, but was more than willing to negotiate the buyout if TCU really wanted to. And I think Pitt probably got a lot of money in the process, but not $10M. TCU gets a coach with some track record that they believe is far, far outside of their other options and can (at least) turn them into a bubble type program, which would be an enormous improvement. For that, they pay a few extra million bucks above the going rate and in turn, if he is successful by their definition, he never leaves until he retires. I commend TCU and I commend Pitt. Plus, I think Dixon made a very good decision for himself. Now Pitt just has to find a good coach to get the program back on track, but luckily they get to do that +$6M or so, instead of -$8M or so next year.

Dad don't you remember you gave me a bunch of money so I could retire. I really appreciate it. It sure beats working. My regards to mom.

Jesus, Jamie and Chris Del Conte are basically locked in a bromance so tight that it's going to take an epic failure by Jamie for Del Conte to make a move. Those two are besties like Linus and his blanket.

When your hire goes south ,if that happens ,the romance will end badly for both. What they paid him he better be lovin on Jamie.

I truly think Jamie would have found a way. This class coming in was the start. Cam and Luther showed promise. But it doesn't mattee we will never know. Great coach , greater guy, hopefully he learned something here about attracting talent. I will root for him because of the memories of Pitt he gave my childhood.

I meet Jamie twice at Greentree I was just hanging out and I look up and the guy next to me was the coach. Easy to engage, unassuming, nice guy. I'm just not sure his heart was in to it anymore at Pitt . I think the thought of banging heads with the elites of the ACC wasn't his idea of a good time coupled with everything else that s going on. I know expectations aren't the same at TCU ,but I think the pressure will mount if he's not successful. There's too much money floating around down in Texas not to think that some of it might go into player acquisition (wink wink ) and how he deals with this aspect of recruiting should be interesting. He has no chance if he plays by the rules like he did at Pitt down there.

I think so too, maybe not all the way back, but close. The last 2 years did alot of damage for me though. It finally kind of got away from him.
