he had a fantastic game, was the centerpiece of the biggest win we've had forever, is all over the national highlights and is the talk of college football today. After all he's been through, as great of a kid as he is, and as great of a player as he is,I felt like he wasn't getting a lot of national recognition this year because we haven't done much to get talked about. Yesterday changed all that. Not sure how many times I've heard the phrase "stiff-arm" and Conner in the same sentence in the past 24 hours, but it's been a lot.

Congrats to James, not only did he and the program get this huge win, but as our best player and program representative he looked like an absolute beast in front of the entire nation doing it. He is the toast of the college football world today.

He is just a man out there. The alpha dog on the field in every game we play.

I love watching him stiff-arm would-be tacklers to the ground, but I think we will be okay when he goes pro at the end of the year. I feel like Ollison will be able to fill that role similarly, but maybe without the dramatic flare...and in some cases he might be better, like between the tackles. We are going to sorely miss Peterman though...as much as I think we have all categorized him as a game manager and very average, I think last night proved he is more than that...I just hope the athleticism of MacV will overcome his greenness.

Peterman has been a game manager most of the season and hasn't been asked to make a lot of plays. It's not always a criticism. He has done an excellent job of running the O for the most part. The guy who called the game yesterday-Griese-was the classic game manager while at Michigan. He got them a national championship by running their offense efficiently and mistake-free and doing enough to keep the chains moving.

He ran well around guys, over guys, blocked great, and caught a few passes.
Not a bad day!
I believe he set himself up bigtime for a decent draft.
Sometimes all it takes is to have a great day when all eyes are on you!
What is the prediction now for James' draft position? I am guessing 4th round right now, but could move up to 3rd with a great combine...

I still think he sticks around, has a great senior season, and gets an invite to NYC for the Heisman presentation next year. Despite how good he's playing I really don't think he's all the way back. Still not exploding off the handoff like he used to.

Unless he's a projected high draft pick, I think James loves it here enough he would play here as long as the NCAA lets him. Whatever he wants to do I'm fine with, I just think the appeal of what could be a really great senior season keeps him here after all he's been through.

The whole team played their hearts out yesterday but five guys who I thought really stood out were Peterman, James, Orndoff, Aston and Galambos. Both lines also played very well.

I love Conner. But he needs to go pro. His future could still have bumps. He needs to make sure his family and he have money.

Agree but would add a couple of guys that made some plays to the list: Brightwell, Taleni, Edwards, Wirginis. Wirginis had a very good game, he was all over the field.
