This is one I see both sides of. But I do agree there needs to be improvement on the floor and the ‘22 class to warrant keeping him much past the next year or so.

I did think it was interesting that Lyke’s endorsement of Narduzzi included how few transfers there were in football. Now maybe that’s not apples to apples between sports - I don’t know. But it certainly drew my attention.
Frankly Narduzzi has been every bit as mediocre and disappointing -
But I’ll leave it up to someone else to draw conclusions about why he’s exempt from those aforementioned posters .
Despite being likewise aligned with Capel regarding public statements regarding equality

I care about continuity for football, dont think it really matters in basketball..where you only start 5 players. Narduzzis conference record is also above some posters highest hopes for Capel. Narduzzi has 1 losing record in conference Capel has 3 in 3 years

One has improved the program from its predecessor -albeit not as much as we want

the other has maintained the same mediocre level of the previous 20 years

continuity matters for both the same

Chryst had 2 losing records in conference in 3 years and .500 overall. Narduzzi has had 1 losing conference record in 6 years, and a coastal championship

Very nice pick up. The trick now will be continuing to recruit him and keep him in the fold through the Spring. In any event, this is a good start to what we need to do in recruiting
Absolutely -
Particularly as an Oak Hill kid
I’m no recruitnik- but the film I’ve seen reminds be of Carl Krauser - just a scorer

From all indications, he’s certainly a kid that can get you a bucket. I’m sure this isnt a revelation to the staff, but the double edged sword of getting a kid this early is maintenance. Hopefully he’s the type of kid who wants to be a foundational piece and works to being others into the fold, but they have to stay on him no matter what. Early recruits are no different than an uncommitted kid. Recruit, recruit, recruit.

OK, not to be a buzzkill, but let's stop the bickering and move on to other items.

Thoughts on the next commit? I know we brought in some guards, but this program needs some size to go along with Big John. Are there any of the official/unofficial kids close to announcing? I know it is still relatively early in the cycle, but I am hoping the Mintz commit provides some more momentum.

I'm looking for 2 top 300 bigs, 6'10" or taller, and they have to be coachable.. Need 2 because 1 is likely to transfer and we need a center. And no 5 star centers, even a 4 star is pushing it. 200-300 range 3 star centers that can develop

If he wants to sign elsewhere after signing in November, he will. He needs to have a good class in May.
Yes but the vast majority of November signings honor their LOI UNLESS there is a coaching change. Do you not agree with that? The amount of November signings who decommit without a coaching change is minimal. To have a good class in May, its vitally important to have a good class in November

I will find it interesting to see if Capel can actually coach, particularly from late January on, so far he really hasn't had a chance with the teams he has had assembled.
He’s had 88 games. I haven’t seen much at all there.

So what do you think of a Fb coach who went 1-13 , 5-9 , 6-8 in his first three seasons ?

Either he’s not very good or his roster sucks !

Now that coach is none other than Chuck Noll who had the benefit of being able to draft guys like Joe Greene , Terry Bradshaw , Jack Ham , Lynn Sawnn , Jack Lambert and so on . It’s amazing how much better a coach becomes with talented players . Unfortunately college bb doesn’t have a common draft , you somehow have to convince talented guys to choose a losing program over winning programs . It’s not that easy !
