You’re taking a subset of a season to prove a point. It doesn’t work that way. Those last 5 games count in the record book too. And they added up to a 10-8 record. The offense was just as meh as it has been in spite of having a better oline and better OC than the year before…and the playoff loss was due to the defense doing what they always do, fall behind bigly before any seats in the building are warm.

Can’t argue - you are what your record says it is. The defensive problems and slow starts are killers.

My overall point is that the haters play both sides of this. The OP is implying KP was done wrong. Multiple other posts imply it’s a franchise content with 10-7.

To me - it shows they weren’t content. I think the flyers on Russ and Fields were good and led to better play for most of the season. And with no draft capital.

This was not a situation where a great player got kicked out the door and then went and played great leading his team to a Super Bowl. If that happens one day - feel free to bump this thread. But for now - it’s just a troll job.

Kenny quit on the Steelers because he requested a trade but the Steeler sheep are drooling over the chance at Deebo Samuels who did the same thing to the 9ers. You can’t make this up.

He asked for a trade after Wilson came aboard. No one can dispute that.

Is asking for a trade the same as quitting on your team? That’s the debate.
After what Mike Tomlin did to Mason Rudolph by lying to him multiple times about a fair competition and then being lied to again about a contract Kenny was right to see Mike Tomlin is a snake salesman who would’ve had people thinking the same about him has you all mistakenly believed about Rudolph and he was smart to get out of town with the most incompentent offensive coaching staff in the league. I commend him for getting out of town and i used to routinely call him garbage his time here at Pitt. Even I saw he would never grow here under Mike Tomlin

It’s no different than being done with a Pitt guy transferring out but being excited about an incoming transfer.

It’s literally the same exact thing. Should we root against every incoming transfer because they weren’t loyal to their original school?

That’s idiotic.

Yep.

Did anybody credit Maddox and Batch with the Steeles winning that '06 Super Bowl? They started four games between them.
Only those who understand the league and the importance of a stand-up replacement in getting wins when the star QB is out. Those people would give/have given Kenny the credit for his good work, a win, etc...the know nothing fans only give credit to their stars...not understanding the concept of team....

Yeah, Russ and the team. fell apart at the end (injuries, the schedule, etc.), but he also did things that Kenny couldn't have done in his wildest dreams. I'm sorry, but Pickett could have never had that game he had in Cincinnati, for instance.
You mean that vaunted Cincinnati defense that fired their defensive coordinator???? Gimme a break. Russ had success early till defenses figured him out. Honestly the quote out of Philly said it best "you can't be great without the greatness of others." Would Hurts have won a Superbowl with the Steelers? Hell no because the team and coaching around him would have sucked. You Steelers fans can keep blaming your revolving door of QB'S all you want but until you fix the roster and coaching it will be more of the same. My biggest problem with Steelers Nation is they treated Kenny like he was the red headed step child holding them back from ring #7 when in reality the team was a mirage of TJ splash plays that masked a plethora of deficiency that still exists today.

Defenses figured Russ out? Dude has 13 years of tape. They played much better competition: the line couldn't block those teams, and he had a cast of receivers from an over 40 beer league when Pickens went down. With his limited mobility at his age, he wasn't ultimately the solution behind this line, but he read the protections and the field a hell of a lot better than Pickett ever did. It was refreshing to watch, until it wasn't.

As for doing Pickett dirty... you mean by drafting him, a mid-round talent, in the first round and letting him play 25 games in his first two seasons while most guys who come into the league at that talent level play in 0-2 games? By setting him up for life with the contract he received? By granting his request to be traded? I also don't know a single person who thinks Kenny Pickett was the sole player preventing this team from winning a Super Bowl.

Your reading comprehension leaves a lot to be desired. They don't have 13 years of tape with him playing with the Steelers in this offense. They played different with Russ than Fields. Never said the Steelers " did Pickett dirty I said Steelers Nation tried to make Pickett and truthfully to a lesser extent the quarterbacks this year, the scapegoat when the truth is they don't have a championship roster. You completely ignored every point I made and started arguing this imaginary narrative created by....... yourself 😁

Who's flirting with the bigger straw man here, Dorothy? You told me "Steeler Nation" acts like Pickett is why they didn't win #7. That's simply not true.

Well stated. One thing in regards to fixing something - you better fix the owner first.

Kenny's last game as a Steeler was against Cincinnati and he did pretty good. Plus Wilson is a 10+ year vet who was a pretty good QB over the years. Maybe 3rd year Kenny with the new OC also has a big game.

Everyone points to that game for Kenny. But here's the thing:

Kenny Pickett against the Bengals in 2023:

24 for 33... 278 yards... 0 TD... 0 Int... 106.83 QBR... 16 points scored

Mason against the Bengals in 2023:

17 for 27... 290 yards... 2 TD... 0 Int... 131.33 QBR... 34 points scored

Russell Wilson against the Bengals in 2024:

29 for 38... 414 yards... 3 TD... 1 Int... 133.11 QBR... 44 points scored

i want to fix Rooney and Nutting, im a pirate and steeler fan. also in need of fixing the conglomerate fenway group, please advise me on the best way to do this.

Keep in mind, Nutting has a restraining order on me from some past indiscretions. oh and yeah, im not exactly allowed anywhere near accrisure or the south side complex too, without notifying the police prior to doing so..

The best thing to happen to Kenny was Covid .

Covid helped make Kenny rich, but since they changed the redshirting rules there's a chance he would have been granted an extra year of eligibility anyway. Still, no guarantees so you're right that he benefitted from it.

Now, if you want to see someone who reallyyyyy got rich off Covid, allow me to point you to one Patrick Narduzzi. Not only that, but it helped bail him out of one of his many boneheaded decisions, which was burning Pickett's redshirt to throw a single meaningless pass against Syracuse when he could have either had MacVittie throw that same pass or put him in for one play to spike the ball (there was only time for one real play anyway but plenty of time to spike it and then run the play) and then put DiNucci right back in.

How so....please expand?
i cant believe this needs explained...

Because he was granted a 5th year, due to the china virus exemption granted by the ncaa, a year in which he want from a projected 5th / 6th rd pick to coming back, having a great season and moving up to a 1st rd pick..

without covid, he runs out of eligibility (unless for some odd reason, the ncaa granted him an additional year), he never has that heisman caliber season, pitt never wins the ACC and he is a 3rd day draftee.
