Absolutely not true? The kid has 5 SR teammates rated 4 stars or better and had 2 more last year. Teams have watched games, film, and visited. He has been passed over by many. That isn't opinion. Hopefully our coach/coaches did a better job of evaluating him than almost all of the other P5 teams.
Top programs do not wait for Rivals ratings to offer kids. That is an absolutely idiotic insinuation. They have 3 times the support staff watching film of kids and evaluating.
I am not being negative at all. It is just so funny to see the same people (9nationalchamps and Teh Teh are classic cases) criticize PSU and other schools/fans for pumping up average or "coach trust" kids and then doing the exact same thing for our kids. This is 100% a situation where many other schools have passed and we didn't. Hopefully CPN is right. Simple as that. He didn't find him because the kid is at a school that has as much exposure as you could possibly ask for. Hopefully he just saw something others missed and we hold and benefit.
I haven't talked shit on him at all. I am being honest, while guys like 9nationalchamps are flat out lying. I am comfortable with having some guys like that, who you trust the staff sees something others missed. He is hopefully a good athlete with potential. He was not a star. According to Rivals he was/is (at best) the 15th best 2016 or 2017 prospect at his high school. Seriously. That is how good his high school is at producing talent and how loaded their 2017 class is.
