It's absolutely the right call, you basically guarantee you can't lose in regulation, even if he makes both you get the ball back. The airball was the cherry on top.

I can't believe Ford had him in the game.

That's a gutty win against a team that is probably NCAAT bound.

That was a great call and nice job by the players to do it at the right time (before the shot), making it one-and-one.

That’s good coaching. The players knew exactly who to foul and they listened.

That kid has to be one of the worst free throw shooters of all time. He makes Shaq, Wilt, and Bill Russell, look like Rick Barry, Calvin Murphy, and Steph Curry. How can you have a guy like that on the floor at crunch time? If I were an opposing coach, anytime they were in the 1 and 1, I'd send in a scrub big, and foul him on 3 straight possessions. Ford should force him to practice shooting Rick Barry style. If he doesn't want to do it, he should sit during crunch time. Kudos to Capel for being aware of the situation, and taking advantage of it.

SLU doesn't look like an NCAAT team to me. NIT is their ceiling, IMHO.

There is no lock in the A10 the way Rhode Island was the last two years, so they have a fair chance of winning that league. There isn't a single ranked team in the A10, AAC, and BE combined. Too bad we're a year or so away, as there will be lots of at large bids to be had this year. The BE is looking like a mid major this year, which from an institutional standpoint, is actually what they are, although a very good one.

How bout keeping the guys back on the late free throws too!? No Butler Nasir Robinson incident. Great coaching by Capel to seal the deal yesterday.

It worked but I wasn't a huge fan of it. SLU wasn't a good 3 point shooting team. Don't forget, Pitt can't rebound and you run the risk of making the first, missing the 2nd and losing. I did like his outside the box thinking though and it worked.
