If you are looking to dump Comcast to get the ACC Network, Fios has some good deals to switch. Free Chromebook and they will pay up to $500 to get out of your old contract. My contract with Comcast is up in January, so I'll owe about $60, but Fios will pay for it. My bill will be a little less than what I was paying before. The process was a bit of a pain. I wish I could have stuck with Comcast. I called and wrote multiple times, but no deal. I'm sure since I changed to Fios, Comcast will sign a deal by Monday!

I live in an area where their is no fios, used to have direct tv but the signal was terrible, but apparently if u have the roku tv u get the acc network?

Only if you also have a streaming service that carries the ACCN--like You Tube Tv or Hulu or Play Station Vue that stream via Roku. Roku standing alone won't give you the ACCN--it is merely a platform for TV streaming service providers.

I did the opposite. I had Fios for years, but my contract was up and they wouldn't renew it at that price (1st time that ever happened) My comcast bill is about $60 less a month. The cable is ok, but my son constantly bitches about the internet. I have had techs come out here numerous times. I am thinking about switching back, but haven't done so yet

I would have switched back to Fios in January anyway. I have gone back and forth between the two for about 8 years. At the end of the two year contract, they jack up the price and when I call to tell them I will change if they don't lower it they tell me they can't. I tell them the same thing every time "See you in two years." Eventually I'd like to cut cable but the alternatives are just too confusing for this old guy. Maybe in another two years the options on how to cut cable and get all the things I want out of it will be clearer.

I think we're going down a couple of tiers with comcast tv and then getting youtube tv. There are a few channels that we watch that aren't available on streaming services so we don't want to cut the cord completely.

See I was ok paying fios a little more, until this year. The rep told me my package was no longer available. I told him I would switch. A few days later when I called to cancel the other rep tried talking me out of it. At that point I switched out of spite. I told her why the other rep didn't make a better attempt to keep me and she couldn't answer it. I was very angry and I told her that.
Oh well

I had DirecTV for years, and was always able to get some sort of credit to reduce my bill, even though I no longer had a contract to follow.

The credits were always enough to keep it competitive with other TV providers in my market, so I remained a customer of DirecTV.

About a year and a half ago, I had a couple of credits expire, and received a huge bill for the regular pricing, without any credits. I called customer service to see what new credits they could apply, and was told there weren't any available - the first time I'd ever been told that.

I even called back the next day to talk to another agent, and was told the same thing. I told her I refuse to pay full price for TV service, when they, and everyone else offer huge discounts to get new customers, and if they couldn't offer me a discount off the bill, the next time I called in would be to cancel.

She said, sorry, you can check back in a couple of months to see if there are any credits available then.

I called a week later to cancel, after I had new service hooked up, and the rep tried to give me credits to remain a customer. I told her it's too late for that, I had already signed an agreement with someone else. She tried to argue with me that I was refusing the credits. Bizarre.

I’ve been a DirecTV subscriber since year one. I think my customer number is 5,000 and something. Back in the old days, it was great. Their original customer service was located in the old airport building in West Mifflin or Baldwin Borough or wherever that airport was. They had trained laid off USW members to do their customer service and also do installation and repairs (but most who chose the second option had to agree to relocate).

The customer service has gotten more automated...and much worse. The prices have gone way up. But, probably because of my customer number, whenever I call to cancel programming like the MLB package or the national sports networks package, they end up offering me major discounts. Not only on what I am planning to cancel, but often on other services. Right now, my internet provider is Frontier Communications and DirecTV bundles the two bills and gives me a monthly credit for 100% of my Frontier bill.

When they cancelled BEIN Sports and my access to La Liga matches, I called and said I had to subscribe to Sling TV to get BEIN so I was going to cancel some DirecTV programming to equalize the extra $25/month I had to pay for Sling. They gave me a $15/month credit plus 4 free movies per month. Usually the customer service rep doesn’t have authority for those large discounts so they transfer me to a supervisor.

A couple of times they have offered me free or discounted adult television channels, but if I accepted those, my marriage and/or my life quickly would end.

I would like to think this is all because I am a wonderful person, but I am 99.99% sure it is because of my customer number.

I also had DirecTV years ago. Back before they had installers to put up the dish for free.

I had to install the dish; run the cable through the wall to the box; determine the azimuth; longitude; latitude; etc. Then, have someone else looking at the TV screen to tell me via cordless landline phone (long before I got a cell phone) how close I was to getting a usable signal while I was on a ladder moving the dish.

Fun times.
