Former NC State Offensive Coordinator was let go today. If there was ever a guy who fit the mold of Duzz's mentality of copying the MSU model he could be the guy. He ran a run heavy offense at NC State this year and has a lot of success in doing so. He had the third best offense in the ACC this year. Former offensive coordinator and QB coach at Wisconsin and Indiana. Last year Tennesee took a run at him and was granted a three-year extension from NCSU. I'm interested in why they let him go, if it wasn't for any wrong doing, he could be an interesting name to watch.

Another Matt as a cordinator? Time heals all wounds from the last Matt we had as a cordinator, this might be to soon for another one

Key fact was he was let go. Why?

Not a fan. Being here in NC and seeing many of their games. He didn't seem to play to the strengths of his team. A versatile RB (Samuels) Speedy WR in FR Hines.
Also, QB play seemed to be the same no long balls, hold the ball to long as the QB did last year and reluctant to make decisions. In year 2 of starting and being a senior those should improve.

Not sure who we will get however, confident in the Duzz!

NC State felt he didn't do the job. Why would we think he could here?

Looks like no one knows why he was let go, but he did a great job coaching?
ARTICLE & LINK:
With assistant coaching moves left and right, NC State has dropped a surprising one on us all with the decision to fire offensive coordinator Matt Canada. NC State’s offense ranked 57th in the nation this past season with an average of 412.8 points per game, which actually went up each of the past two seasons with Canada leading the offensive playcalling. The average scoring also increased each of the past two seasons with the Wolfpack averaging 33.2 points per game this past season (42nd in the nation). NC State also allowed just 13 turnovers this season, fifth fewest in the nation. On top of that, while North Carolina State’s red zone scoring percentage was fairly average the past two seasons, the Wolfpack made a tremendous stride in red zone touchdown percentage under Canada and were one of the more touchdown efficient teams in the nation inside the red zone. So, what exactly was going so wrong for NC State to let go of Canada? It appears to be a secret to everybody.

Holy crap, we gotta hire this guy immediately....

"NC State's offense....with an average of 412.8 points per game"

I'm pretty confident that our defense can keep most of our opponents under 400 points per game, so we should be pretty good. :D

There's no way Pitt should settle for a guy who's team only averaged 412.8 points per game. It sounds like the same old Pitt. We need to be bold and go for someone that scores at least 420 per game!

And it's PA_Panther for the WIN!!!
Very nice pull there, sir!!!

If he was looking to leave for Pitt, I could certainly see why the NCST head coach would want to fire him first. But if they were going to owe him money if he was fired, wouldn't the AD say let him quit? Is the perception worth the money?

I have confidence in Duzz on this hire
My post on this earlier I had my doubts.

After seeing our product on the field and buy in by kids and recruits. Duzz is going to get us in the right direction.

Welcome Coach Canada....you will have better WR's here and Better RB's and Peterman can throw across the middle.
