We have no byes left and I cant imagine the ACC makes teams play on 1 day rest (ie 3 games in a week) just to get these games in. So it would seem the maximum amount of ACC games that could be played are 18 and the only way we play FSU and GT is if we have games canceled the same time they do.

They could still put 3 games in 1 week. Such a strange Covid year so you never know what will be decided.

Playing on a Friday afternoon and then Sunday night wouldn't be that terrible. Then you would play that 3rd game either the Tuesday before or the Wednesday after the two game weekend so as to get 2 days rest either before or after the 2-game weekend.

That kind of arrangement would be viable--If the ACC really wanted or needed to do it.

They could but I don't think they will unless Pitt or the other team really need an extra game due to an inordinate amount being canceled. And even then, I kinda doubt it. No one cares about regular season college basketball. They didn't even add a week in at the end for make up games like college football did because CBS and Turner want the NCAAT right then.

I care about regular season college basketball. I watch multiple games on multiple networks every night. So there. Someone cares. You can officially stop saying that no one cares.

There's still an open weekend between Feb 10 (UL) and Feb 17 (NCSt).

Oh yea, ESPN is showing the originally scheduled Syracuse game there. I wonder if there were no teams available for that slot, if Pitt and Syracuse would play a 3rd time? The RMU women are playing Northern Kentucky for the 3rd and 4th time this weekend. I know that's mid-major women but.

FWIW, the ACC rescheduled the Pitt women's postponed game against Boston College for Tuesday, February 16. They already have a game on the schedule against Louisville on Thursday, February 18.

I would imagine that if they are OK with women's teams playing on one day rest that they probably wouldn't have much trouble with a men's team doing it, if it comes to that.

All conferences are ok with teams playing on 3 or 4 consecutive days during conference tournaments, so why not 2 games in 3 days?

Yeah, I don't think it's a big deal at all. I could understand them not wanting to have a Monday game between a team that played on Saturday against a team that hadn't played since the previous Wednesday (for example). But if both teams had played on Saturday, what's the big deal?

Playing 2 games in a short time is only fair if both teams have the same situation. Really a mess.

Do fans no remember Big Monday in the Big East? we regularly played a Saturday/Monday schedule.

Right, but we never then had a Wednesday game after that.

The ACC seems to hate playing on 1 days rest. That's why they squish together all the conference games on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, playing games at 9PM on public access channels instead of spreading some to Thursday and Friday like the visionary Big Ten.
