Maybe Kenny Pickett wasn’t the issue

Canada was bad. The OL was bad. The running game wasn't there. The receiving options were okay. Tomlin limited his QBs. Even with all that, Kenny was still bad in Pittsburgh. He's with a well-built team with a great line and receivers and a staff that knows how to coach offense. It's a great situation for him and I'm glad he played well today. Unfortunately, another injury.

Yeah, everything around him sucked…so let’s blame the qb for it all.

All the steeler fans and Kenny bashers can suck it

The Steelers press always seem to need their scapegoat

Hell even last week it’s these “insiders” claiming there’s a player on defense responsible for their complete collapse against KC… please

Last year it was Kenny …. this year it’s “mystery unnamed defensive player”

It’s a bunch of crap is what it is.

He did. And this thread was inevitable regardless.

If a team thinks he’s good enough he’ll absolutely get another chance to start.
He’s not going to get paid because he can’t stay healthy. Not that he was going to get paid anyways. The league would’ve wanted to see a larger sample size with a competent offense.

Kenny was never going to bedazzle you however he is a capable starting quarterback in the NFL. He got caught up in backroom dirty politics by fraud Heyward and Tull who played the media to make Kenny look bad. Heyward is the biggest fraud in Pittsburgh and in the NFL.
Maybe Hayward is “mystery unnamed defensive player”? lol

Two decades ago it was Kordell. ODOnnell got paid under a bridge to throw two SB picks ya know? lol

I’d love to be wrong but Kenny is a quality backup.
If Kenny did this over the course of 10 games in Philly, I’d still take Hurts over Kenny…because Kenny is still limited and Hurts has assets Kenny doesn’t. So depending on the team, yeah he’s clearly a backup.

They also kept Kenny in the under wraps due to rib injury. The guy can play. He may not be an All-Pro bit he was nearly the median NFL starting QB in QBR over his last several starts his rookie year after a bad start and despite having garbage around him. He looked good in his lone quarter after Canada left before getting hurt

He led the league in comeback wins as a Steeler. When needed he showed up, just like today. He's already the 2nd most successful Pitt QB in the NFL and is actually better than all non-Marino guys combined.

Of course.

The more realistic question is Pickett/wilson/fields
That hypothetical doesn’t really work because Kenny requested a trade after the Steelers signed Wilson to the vet minimum. So it would be, would you rather have Wilson and Pickett or Wilson and Fields?

Kenny's biggest problem is he gets beat up to easy. It's funny how when you have a good staff, good line and real offensive talent around you, a supposed problem qb has no trouble looking like a solid professional for the most part. The Steelers did Kenny wrong. This is a dead end franchise and Kenny was smart to get the hell out. As long as Tomlin is here this team is dead. Kenny has a good shot to get a ring this year, nothing wrong with that even if you're a backup.

Let’s just hope for Kenny’s sake that the Eagles don’t change the locker room carpeting without his approval first or he might pout and demand another trade.
