I loved Sam, but I think 33 against Louisville is more impressive than 33 against Belmont.

I don't remember a performance that good by any Pitt player in the last 20 years. Even during our peak years, we never had a guy just take over a game like that. It was a missing link IMO and why we never got over the hump to the final 4. Amazing performance. And X is being overlooked slightly but he had 21 points and 10 assists!

I loved Sam, but I think 33 against Louisville is more impressive than 33 against Belmont.

On the other hand, Sam had a better team to compete for minutes and scoring. If Trey played on Sam's team, he gets half as many minutes.

And if would have been better at the FT line he could have pushed 40!

The only comparable performance I can remember is Mark McCarroll's improbable breakout against Georgia back in 03 I believe. Last night was special.

More points than Zion Williamson has had in any game this year, and they hype him up so much. Clearly Trey > Zion.

Kidding of course, but it’s not just the blue bloods that have talented freshmen. Sure - not typically the NBA lottery pick one and done type freshmen - but would rather have a kid who will grow with the program for at least a few years anyway.
