Tried to answer your question in the thread yesterday about Beh, but it was moved or something, I cant find it.

Anwar Philips admitted to sexually assaulting a fellow student, and he was allowed to play in the capital one bowl

http://www.erinoconnor.org/archives/2003/03/athletic_rapist.html

Kinda proves JoePa was certainly beneath Sherrill... not that further evidence didnt already certify that statement.

By the way... if the Beh thread was removed, can someone please post why? We can have blatant speculation posted about our coaches leaving, literally posting about how bad of a coach Canada is, post about why Wade wont chose Pitt. Post about ND's coach, Saban, RichRod, etc ... But a post about our rival suspending a key player cant be posted? It was a fact, as is this. I dont post often on this board, but nothing in these is against the rules of posted, is it??

AA I knew who you were talking about yesterday(Phillips) but he was never convicted of a crime ,just accused. At the time I thought Joe should of suspended him because he was expelled from PSU and he's trial was pending. But in the end who was right, the school or Joe?Did Joe know something about what happened between Phillips and the woman and felt Phillips was innocent,I can't answer this!I bet it you ask the bull,I mean steer, that Jackie castrated he wouldn't think Jackie was such a nice guy.

Great example of how a story get's blown out of proportion. Jackie Sherrill NEVER castrated a bull. He brought his team to watch an actual bull castration which is commonly done in that industry.

As far as I know Jackie also never enabled a pedophile for 40 years either so there's that.

Huh??? Bulls get castrated every day. Do you normally talk to steers??

But, according to the article, Philips accepted responsibility for raping the girl. Here is the working link, the other link supplied by the OP didnt work

http://www.erinoconnor.org/archives/2003/03/athletic_rapist.html

So, he was expelled, but since it was between semesters, Joe Paterno, allowing his All American Dback (and Dbag) play in a bowl game even though he accepted responsibility and was expelled is OK??

Pretty flimsy argument.

Edit... read the comments at the end. WOW... especially since they didnt know what was coming next.

Wbr thank you for acknowledging that stories get blown out of proportions by the media.Funny how that happen isn't it when a person of fame is involved.Wbr I agree it's quite common for a bull to be castrated on a college football practice field,it happens all the time? And your another person that knows for a fact Joe knew about Jerry back in the 70s and the media didn't influence your feeling?By the way Wbr I've personally castrated 100s of bulls,no big deal with me but the media jumped all over it because it involves Sherrill!

Stache,Im serious here if he was guilty why was he never convicted?I already said I would of suspended him from the bowl game.Joe must of felt that he was innocent untill proven guilty, gee where have I heard that before?I guess he was giving the kid his constitutional right,is that wrong?

Classic deflection.

At point... Why did Anwar Phillips play that game?

Does this reflect the ongoing issues that were KNOWN in 2003 about what else was happening in Penn State??? Football ahead of protecting women and children.

So, you knew who I was talking about, yet said you didnt know? Yeah... that sounds exactly like a ped state person.

Why the PedState comment?I should of said I thought I knew who you were referring to,my fault bad wording.Ive never talked about Pitt in a derogatory way and you call me a Ped State person.I agreed with you I felt Joe was wrong in letting him play.I do not know why Joe felt he should play and will never know what was in Joe's brain then,in 1976,1998,2003,2011 but lots of other people seem to know what was in there!I'm done talking about Mr Phillips and his escapades,he sure wasn't a pillar of society and someone who should be looked up to.

A lot of guilty people are not found guilty, especially if they are wealthy or gifted athletically.

Just like those that are poor or uneducated are wrongfully sent to prison.

Do you live under a rock?

Joes dead, anwar is gone most of us have moved on. Franklin kicks players off the team, or suspends if needed. We don't know what Beh did. If it was something criminal we can't hide it. That's part of the rules put in place.

Well sure... but this conversation was started when medixman said joke pa wasnt as bad as Sherrill

I do think Franklin tries to put rules in place now. I cant deny that so far.

I don't think you want to bring Franklin's handling of serious off-field transgressions to the table. I'm sure that wound is still pretty fresh in parts of Tennessee.

Buck I don't live under a rock but I do live in Greene County. We do have indoor plumbing and electricity in most homes down here now!

AA I never said Joe was as bad as Sherrill.I said Majors,Sherrill and Paterno handled things in their own way in the 70s and 80s and you brought up Phillips.I love the castration of the Bull by Sherrill that's something I would of done in the 70s.But I would of got a way with it down here in Greene County no questions asked, times have changed my friends.

Jackie Sherrill never castrated a bull. And Joe knew everything so Joe knew.

I think the point is Paterno was CLEARLY worse than Sherrill in every aspect.

And the other point is if Mr. Philips was not a pillar of society, then why let the guy play in the bowl game. Is winning a fairly meaningless bowl game really worth that??? And, Penn State had ample depth at that time, just get rid of the guy or tell him 'You may be innocent, but in my conscience I cant allow you to play while this is up in the air."

Regarding the bull castration, why would that motivate anyone? It would probably make me sick, actually watching it. Can't imagine there are too many people that would see an animals sack cut off and instantly get energized and want to play a football game.

I think it's wrong. It's not a court system, it's a football team. If you are accused of rape and you take responsibility for that then sure suspend shouldn't play in the bowl game right?

Beneath Sherrill? Wow. I never remember any Sherrill players getting into sexual trouble. I think I know what you are saying but the way you are saying it implies that Sherrill wasn't clean in some fashion. Joe hated him because he was a great recruiter especially with the black athlete. And this does not imply anything other than that. Go ask the players who played for him and they will tell you the same thing. Jackie was the real deal. Had he stayed, he most likely would have been the Bear Bryant of that day.

I'd like to make it perfectly clear that I do not cut the bull's testicles off when I castrated them!I do it the civil way I band them and they later drop off!If anyone is interested in my method of sterilization instead of a vasectomy let me know!H2P

I never said sherrill was even slightly not clean. I implied Palermo was not at all.

Misses the Point and why Penn State got Sanctions as well. Defenders just keep getting wrong, it not about whether he is convicted of a crime it was Joe refused to allow the University to comply with Athletic Integrity Title IX & Clery Act Legal Requirements by insisting only he could discipline his Players???

Cites Penn State Anwar Phillips Suspended From University But Played:
Women Law Center Project Letter To Department Of Education Asking Title IX Investigation Cites If Schools Apply Different Compliance Standards To Student Athletes and cite Penn State Player's Phillips and Patterson Cases:

To be Fair, the Actual Clery Act Investigation Report years overdue is about to be Publicly Reported along with Findings soon with as rumored negotiated settlement, let that happen and then argue.

Additionally, to be even more fair this was cited in many newspapers and the NCAA conducted no Formal investigation on anything on Athletic Integrity on Lack of Institutional Control over a Football Coach and many Players Arrests were not even reported as required by Clery Act? All came out after PSU Trustees Freeh Report Investigation and proposed recommendations to correct the PSU Policies, Process, and bring Penn State Compliance.NCAA followed with Sanctions & NCAA Monitor to see Overview and PSU did such a Good Job, Sanctions were reduced!

Anwar Phillips was not convicted by the way but this had nothing to do that Penn State was not in many Athletic Integrity Compliance's Issues, Policies, and Laws and Joe was not in charge of those but here is an article bringing out why Penn State did not have them in place. Again, full report coming out soon, I am told? Below is a synopsis but the Penn State Daily Collegian has remove access to such articles cited in their papers, but it was picked up by many others that can be linked. However, keep in mind the Title IX Clery Act Report Investigation has not been published. I would wait on it, and there has been other Articles that dispute what happen in cases dating back to 2000, to be very fair?

At the time I thought Joe should of suspended him because he was expelled from PSU and he's trial was pending. But in the end who was right, the school or Joe?
Again, Arrests were not being reported by Penn State University and that was a alleged violations of Title IX Clery Act, and that Report coming out soon? Penn State admitted they weer not following such laws and made sure the Penn State 2012 Reforms were put in place to correct Decades of not following the laws and Compliance's. many new Policies were put in and NONE REMOVED TO DATE?

Did Joe know something about what happened between Phillips and the woman and felt Phillips was innocent,I can't answer this!
Again, not important at all, the better question why was Penn State University Football Program had Athletic Integrity Agreement, No Athletic Integrity Code of Conduct, No Director of Ethics and Compliance, No Athletic Integrity Officer, Only One Record of Title IX Clery Act Arrests as required by Law over many years, and 116 of 119 New Reforms were put in Place in 2012 after Freeh gave such recommendations and are still in place today and are a Model of Compliance's for all universities to follow?

It is not about Individual Players Guilt or Innocence those are decided later, it is about Penn State was not following those rules, regulations, and Laws. Now is that Joe's Fault or Penn State University or both is being decided in a Civil Lawsuits and did the University & NCAA Disparaged Joe's Good name by doing what it did to bring Penn State into Compliance's si also being part of that Discovery and in other Lawsuits as well? (Again, my contention is let Clients and Lawyers decide within the Courts and by way of Dismissals, Settlements or Trials). Let's be fair to both sides until more comes out on the Public Record?

I bet it you ask the bull,I mean steer, that Jackie castrated he wouldn't think Jackie was such a nice guy.
Jackie was accused NCAA Violations of his own but not at Pitt, at A&M, Missy State, and actually agrees with Jay Paterno the NCAA can ignore some things among other programs and jump all over others as well and unfairly I might add? UNC, USC, OSU, BAMA, ND, MICHIGAN, OU, and a number of other may agree too.

Again, all must separate the actual Alleged Crimes and Eventual Outcomes from what University's are suppose to be following Educational Federal Laws, Conference Regulations, and NCAA Rules and it is being contested in Courts of Laws both Criminal, Civil, and Congressional Regulations under DOJ, DOE, and Agencies. It was up to the Trustees to oversee the College Presidents did it and up to the College Presidents to execute such compliance's and oversee such employees, coaches, and administrative did it.

Today, Penn State is a Model of doing that since July of 2012, and because it was not doing all of it before 2012 and much blame and finger pointing is going all around, but this is proof Penn State was not doing it. Can't put it all on Joe either and same things happening at Baylor now? Joe was an Employee of Penn State University and it was up to PSU to oversee him is what is being debated as a small part of many contention-able issues still being discovered?

Many can have opinions like the Public, Media and Posters on University Policy issues, Big Ten AIA Compliance's, Federal DOJ Title IX Compliance's, Clery Act Educational Compliance's, University & Football Coaches Undisclosed Conflicts of Interest, being violated, discovered and then Reformed! Is not being debated it was needed and happen but how it happen?

At the same time, in my OPINION, Coach Joe Paterno & Jackie Sherrill were tow the most competitive and Excellent Football Coaches of their CFB Era, had Dinner Together, and made up, along with! Jackie supporting Jay and Jay with Jackie on some other issues and that is NO BULL but a FACT!

This semester, Pitt hosts the Frontiers Conference with the POTUS and PSU hosts a clandestine meeting behind drapes on how to get Joepa's statue restored.

Need I say more
