I don't think he did.

What he did do was coach first against Western Michigan as the coach of Central Michigan in 2006. Then when Cincy hired him later that year (to replace Dantonio) he coached Cindy in their bowl game, which happened to be against Western Michigan.
So I think he was the first coach to defeat the same team twice in one season while coaching two different teams.
