Pitt is now most Spartan's 2nd favorite team. We wish him and you well. Bonus for us he is not in the Big Ten (although not sure he would have taken another Big Ten job to compete against us).

He'd have taken Ohio St. All Ohioans aspire to coach the Buckeyes. That said, more than few coaches have taken jobs that forced them to compete against schools they loved. Bo Schembechler was as Ohio as you can get. Didn't stop him from going to Michigan. Darrell Royal was an Okie, and a Sooner, and still went to Texas. If UM had offered Pat the job, he'd have been crazy not to take it.
Narduzzi is from Youngstown, don't know if the almighty tOSU has the same clout there as in other parts of state.
It most certainly does. I spend a lot of time in Youngstown, and most of my friends are big OSU fans. The only place in Ohio where the OSU fandom is slightly tempered is Cincy, and that's only slightly.
I have doubts he would have taken Ohio State. He is too close with Dantonio. Dantonio was defensive coordinator for Ohio State when they beat Miami for National championship. He is great buddies with Tressel, hates what OSU did to Tressel, dislikes Urban, and I think as great a job as OSU is, in addition to the fact that Urban doesn't appear to be leaving soon, that Narduzzi respects how much Dantonio hates Ohio State-a team he helped win a national championship. Dantonio's respect for Tressel and Ohio State has transformed into the team he hates 2nd most. It is the same reason he didn't steal any of MSU's assistant coaches when he left.
By the way, nice win Saturday. The fake and Lockeroom scene of players singing in a circle are all classic Michigan State stuff.

He did...he passed up on less appealing opportunities to be a Head Coach for 2 years, before choosing Pitt.
