NC State's depth

How do they have 10 good players? They lost their starting 5 and replaced him with a better player. To me, it seemed like their backups would be an NIT team.....and its NC State.

BTW, to me, Keatts seems like an awful coach. This is 2 years in a row he almost lost to a badly undermanned Pitt coach. Seems as if he is just a slight upgrade from Gottfried. Gonna always have players though.

They didn’t lose their starting 5, but did bring in many new key guys. Dorn & Johnson their leading scorers are returning starters. Beverly Also started last year.

He brought in starting wings Bryce & Daniels as sit out transfers last year. Bryce was with him at his last job and Daniels was at Utah.

Funderburk was kicked out of Ohio St and played JC ball last year.

Got Grad transfers Walker & Lockett this year.

Then the other rotation guy is the Frosh F, I forget his name.

When SMF said that ("starting 5") I think he was referring to their center, who got ejected in the opening minutes of the game.

Probably I’ll blame it on the Flu meds I’m taking lol. Anyways they brought in nice talent with good depth.

Their starting five is averaging 6.2 ppg and 4.5 rpg. It would be like if we started Kene at center tomorrow and something happened to him two minutes into the game and then a Florida State fan not being able to figure out why losing him didn't really hurt the team at all.

I am a State fan who obviously watches all of our games and I imagine as a Pitt fan you may tune into us seldomy, but I can tell you Gott and Keatts are night and day to us as Coaches, and I mean that because it is not even close. Keatts is the best coach we have had since V, and the effort we see night-in and night-out from Keatts' roster is one thing we have not seen in a long time.

So, how do we have 10 good, almost interchangeable players? Well, it is because of how well those guys are conditioned coming into the season and also, well, because they are very well-coached and all have bought into first the defensive mindset Keatts' has implemented which in return transitions over the offensive system he looks to establish.

And to be honest, we are really about a season/big man away. Next season with the addition of Sacha Killeya-Jones at Center and 5* freshman CG Jalen Lecque coming in, it really will be Keatts' most talented/deepest roster he has at State.
