Solid performance by Nino, 10-4, and completely in control the entire match. Great to be in the finals!

I think Nino should be the example that the coaching doesnt promote conservative offense. Output is on the wrestlers themselves
The outlier should set the standard? The wrestlers have more to blame than the coaches sure I don’t see the coaches telling wrestlers hey don’t score anything here, but it’s weird the way some approach these big matches and unnerving where the regressions come from.
Then add the Heller to the point then too. They arent conservative at all. Same with Camacho. As a coach myself, I can stress mental toughness all I want but what is going on in the kid's head is the kid's alone. It is extremely difficult to teach a killer instinct. Even Nino has to find his on his own and it took last year's disappointment to get him there

Wow. I know he has been injured and if that’s truly the case then okay. But this kind of feels like a case of well I don’t get to go to Dairy Queen so I don’t want to play anymore.
I agree. There's only so much the coaches can do. I talked to Cole last night off the record, and I'll look to interview him today. I'd be shocked if he doesn't shoulder the blame 100%. Coaches are telling him to shoot, but if he doesn't, what are they going to do? It's not like you can cut his playing time like in football or basketball. He has to wrestle through it and learn from it.
This is just not a problem at Pitt but at every school, if look at Beau Bartlett at PSU who has very good leg attacks and is as quick as anyone out there but he doesn't shoot and doesn't seem to be changing his approach.
It also goes the opposite way and you know the VT coaching staff would love Bryce Andonian to wrestle smarter and with a little more control.

And Penn State fans complain about Bartlett and even I heard Penn State fans complaining about Max Dean this tournament. Shows that some fans will never be satisfied.
Guessing those fans your speaking of probably never competed in anything above the chess club.
