Dunn fractured his elbow
Never want to wish injury on a player but with him out, I think this team has a chance to be better. Will it be enough? No. But we can be better.

The ACC sucks. We'll have 10 new players and go 6-14. We arent going to go 0-20 or 2-18. This isnt the SEC. We will get some decent transfers. Enough to beat BC, GT, etc.
What do you mean. Hillgrove told me on today's broadcast down the stretch that this was "ACC basketball at its finest!"You are saying that neither is near the top 100 teams in the country?
that doesn’t include the 5-10 shots late in the shot clock that were forced because the offense consists of one of the guards dribbling at the top of the key with four guys watchingThey turned it over six times. We turned it over nine times.

I'm telling you, these NIL donors aren't giving Capel any money next season. And he ain't the guy who can win without talent. If we don't finish last we'll be close to it.

For sure it was a foul but Legget just stood there. He made no attempt to move He was flat footed. So it’s hard to tell if that affected that play or not. Not sure if Pitt had any time outs left but if they did why didn’t he call time out

They didn’t have anymore time outs. That was the inbounds play at the endFor sure it was a foul but Legget just stood there. He made no attempt to move He was flat footed. I like ish but man he’s been brutal lately. He can’t hit the side of the barn and is a turnover machine Dunn is just dumb He brings nothingWhat pissed me off was again, he lets cummings play in first half, and hardly at all in the 2nd. Ish struggled the whole game, he puts in the twin and went with that for literally the whole 2nd have. There was like a 5 min stretch where neither team could score and when Pitt had the ball with a chance to build a let most times they didnt even get off a shot. Not once did he bring in Cummings.
The loses started when Dunn came back in he shorten his bench. And there is no excuse of they started playing bad teams, because supposedly the OOC schedule was one of the best in the country. Capel just changed because that is what he always does. That bench can help the team, but Capel refuses to change. Talking bout everything is on the table, then its statud quo to start the game. Both Ish and Dunn was awful, but Cummings cant get on the court. I would not be shocked if he enters the portal. Capel is a really bad game coach.
He wouldn’t know ACC Basketball at its finest if he drove his car directly into it.What do you mean. Hillgrove told me on today's broadcast down the stretch that this was "ACC basketball at its finest!"
His one recruit is some kid named Witherspoon. Capel needs 4 or 5 - 4* and 5* players to be competitive, plus some of the best portal transfers. He'll never win with what we have now.
Sucks for Dunn and I’m sorry that happened to him, but the silver lining should be more PT for Beebah, which will benefit the program more in the future.Never want to wish injury on a player but with him out, I think this team has a chance to be better. Will it be enough? No. But we can be better.
Yep. Capel is too dumb to see that Dunn and Leggett are black holes. Cummings should help ball movement, that is for sure.Sucks for Dunn and I’m sorry that happened to him, but the silver lining should be more PT for Beebah, which will benefit the program more in the future.
It's going to be Ryan Murphy-level talent coming in next season. And Sidney N'dir, or whatever his name was.
I don't know why we take recruiting classes that are so small.
Then don't say it. The board overwhelmingly doesn't go for this.I hate to say this but I was kinda hoping for Dunn's injury to keep him out of the game and the next several because for whatever reason, the team is worse when he plays.
This team needs N 'dir. He can defend. I dont think you are wrong but we need to focus on guys who can rebound and defend. Look at WVU. Terrible offensive players. Only Small can score. The rest of the guys are almost D2-level offensively. But you can't score on them. They are Tony Bennett-level on defense. If we aren't going to be able to pay anyone next season, we need to play lack of moneyball and identity guys who can defend and rebound. People pay money for offense. Defense and rebounding can be had cheap.

Yeah wishing injury on a player is classless but consider the sourceThen don't say it. The board overwhelmingly doesn't go for this.
Why in the world would Capel, at this stage in his career, emphasize defense and rebounding? And it's not like good defense doesn't require good coaching - something he doesn't offer.
Plus, West Virginia is an anomaly. I'm sure I could point to quite a few great defense/rebounding teams that have no offense and suck.
Because if he has no NIL money, defenders can be had cheap. The tough thing is identifying these guys. Like that Illinois transfer guard for WVU is seriously probably D3 level offensively. He is shooting 9% from 3 and 30% from the field. He is as bad as an offensive player and there maybe ever has been in the P5. Isaiah Epps level terrible. But apparently he can defend his ass off and they are going to the tournament.
Again, you don't just "find great defenders" and roll the ball out. That style of play requires good coaching. We don't have that.

What really chaps my ass is I really wanted to see the play that Capel drew up out of the timeout, but, we couldn't even get the damn ball in. Lol
What you described was likely a 95% probability. He probably could have been quintuple teamed and still wouldn't pass."Ish, you're gonna get the ball and find a way to make it happen. You other guys, I want you to stand around the arc and bear witness to the greatness."
I like how some of you Jamokes talk about how awful these guys are then turn around and say how bad we will be next year without them.
Things can turn quickly. We thought we had a top 25 NET team 45 days ago. We didn’t. But no reason that we can’t still have a good team next year. A lot to be resolved.
Well, the 2016-17 Pitt team was pretty frustrating. People often criticized both the effort and selfishness of Young and Artis - saying they were auditioning for the NBA and didn't care about the team, etc. We finished 16-17, and it was disappointing.
... and then they both moved on and we went 8-24.
Great coaching job by Stallings. Had 3 guys who would play games in the NBA and went 16-17.
I hear you, but Cam was still pretty green and I'm not sure if John Wooden himself could have told Young and Artis what to do that season.
Did Young play in the NBA? I don't even remember.
