Notre Dame needs a good butt kicking now!

o

I guess that you didn't see any grabbing. I did, a lot. So, we just disagree. I thought Temple played very well and I wish them luck the rest of the way.

My overall point is that the losing team always bitches about the refs after the game.

I saw a lot of grabbing by guys wearing white jerseys. Obviously you didn't. so yes, we disagree.

I sure am seeing a lot of b*tching about the refs from fans of the team that won.

I'm not the one complaining about the refs being the reason for the outcome of the game

But if you watch that game as say:
"ND's OL got away with a lot of holds"

But think it's unfair to say:
"Temple's DBs got away with a lot of holds"

Then you're just very biased.............and very, very whiny

1) Who said the refs were the reason for the outcome of the game? I never did. What I DID point out was that the game turned on the way Temple elected to defend ND's read-option plays (committing all the manpower to Prosise enabled Kizer to burn us).

2) Apparently YOU think it unfair to counter an assertion that Temple's DBs got away with a lot of holds with one that Notre Dame's offense got away with a lot of holds. You can't have it both ways . . . unless YOU'RE very biased . . . and very, very PRIVILEGED!

You're confused

I countered your point about "ND gets all these calls" with "They we're your refs, in your stadium, against an OOC team"....the refs favored you

And I countered your complaint of "NDs OL should have been called for holding" with "Temple's DBs should have been called for hiding"

The real issue here is a fan thinking hat t was anything other than he teams fault they lost...and not really the ADVANTAGES the actually got

So, you're saying in a close game, poor or biased refereeing cannot affect the outcome?
If a team makes a play that would ice the game, and a referee overturns or disallows it, and that team loses, it is their fault?
That is beyond stupid.

I'm saying if a team is still in a close game at the end, then there we're other plays they could have made trough the game to win...but they did

Focusing in on the 1-2 plays you couldn't make becuase of the refs is simply a loser's way if ignoring the plans you didn't make yourself

Talk to pretty much any coach of a successful competitive sports team and they explain this to you too

Blaming the refs is always a loser excuseexcuse

Here's my thing. Yes, blaming the refs is not what any coach will condone. But, if the refs continually make bad calls, even in times that really don't affect the outcome, should we just not complain? Bad officiating is bad officiating, and it should not be tolerated by the NCAA. It is so pathetically bad, they can't even get calls right after replay.

Take Thursday for example. That was an embarrassment to officiating. Was that the reason Pitt lost though? Not really, Pitt had enough things they needed to do better as a team. But the fact is the officials were bad. I just don't think bad officiating should be overlooked because it doesn't directly affect the outcome of the games.

But fans seem to think bad officiating only goes 1 way.....and that's not true

Fans just fixate on the bad calls that went against them without realizing the bad officiating, while bad, was likely very even

So even though the officiating was bad, it wasn't a real reason that either team won or lost...and complaining about it in the context of the outcome of a game is still simply a losers argument

There is a reason you'll never hear a good coach coming out and talking about how the refs stole the game from his team and it's the refs fault that he lost

If you want to say "officials should learn what they did wrong and work to improve", I completely argee

But the bad calls go both ways, so blaming losses on them..........still a complete losers agrument

So come Sunday morning, if all goes well here, it will be YOUR argument!

Yes I think we are on the same page then. I think the officials in the ACC are just terrible overall. Almost like they have no clue what they're doing and are in way over their head. Bad calls and no-calls in every ACC game this season.

Again, who blamed the outcome of the game on officiating? Was I supposed to overlook missed or questionable calls? The fact that you guys came out on the long end of the scoreboard didn't seem to keep YOU GUYS from carping about officiating. The sense of entitlement that comes from being NOTRE DAME causes you to take offense when any call doesn't go your way . . . and how dare we peons question any. (If you don't think the Notre Dame awe-ra doesn't influence calls made or not made, you're crazy.) When DOES Notre Dame ever get called for holding (false start, and other judgment calls)? Oh, that's right, they're just that clean . . .

Since the disaster calls of the PI and 2 players on for the FG came up ... I'd like an ND fan to step up and remind everyone what bad calls went against them in that game that drastically affected outcome ( both gifted the game literally ...take away either mistake and Pitt wins going away).... Since it's always..."even"...?

1. They were your officials, at your house, and you're playing an OOC and OOS team. You get that, right...?

2. I just went through the "Play-by-Play" on ESPN. There were 2 Holding Calls all game. 1 on ND, 1 on Temple.
So your whole point about "We didn't get called for any holding" is stupid...

Additionally, yes, our OL is good enough to play that cleanly.
No one, and I mean no one, has recruited the OL as well as ND has over the last 3-4 years. Basically every OL recruit we had was a 4*/5* with offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, etc.

3. You are the one complaining about the refs. I pointed out how the bad calls went both ways IN RESPONSE TO YOUR COMPLAINING

This complaining about refs from teams that lose (especially when it's their own refs AND it was their home game) is simply PATHETIC!!

To be honest with you, I barely remember the game beyond Pitt missing a 30 yard field goal to keep us in it.

I clearly remember the next year, when the refs kicked out our best defender (Stephon Tuitt) on a BS targeting call

So yes, the calls "always even out"

That targeting rule has been around for how long now?

But, when it gets called against NOTRE DAME, it's always "BS".

Pretty sure our O wasn't doing much holding on any running plays against Temple. We were barely blocking half the time.

Look forward to this game, it should be a good one. Just wish it wasn't on at noon.

I don't make that excuse no matter what

Players and coaches win/lose games. If you let the refs take the game from you, you lost it yourself anyways

And a 12-0 season with a loss in the NCG is still a sweet undefeated season and a NCG Berth
I'm sure you were as high-minded after the Bush Push.
