i believe Pitt has won their last four games against top 5 team when unranked

Miami 2017
Clemson 2016
WVU 2007
Va Tech 2002

Three were on the road.

They were #11 when we played them. We lost to #4 ND in 2012, however.
No we didn't lose, we were robbed!

Pitt always seems to win one game they have no business winning. I don't see that happening this weekend.

Have you even seen the play? The TE gets jammed for 5 yards off the line then gets a yard of separation from the corner until the ball is in the air. Here's the clip from a wide camera angle if you have trouble remembering.

No, no, no... The Pitt player was pulling his jersey all the way down the field. This joker has actually convinced himself there was pass interference. Quite comical.

Syracuse game is the only upset that Pitt is going to get this year. If they do win a big one I'll eat my words. Their offense is not good enough to upset a big team. A win is a win but don't expect much after cuse game. The only way they could win is if a team beats themselves. They will stack the line and make our passing game move the ball and we all know were that is going to get us. Last couple of years I thought we were taking a few steps ahead and now we have fallen back a long way.

Wasn’t Georgia Tech favored over Pitt?

Against the Odds: Pitt underdogs to Georgia Tech this weekend

Most sports books seem to favor Georgia Tech by anywhere from 3 1⁄2 to 4 1⁄2 points, despite the fact that Pitt gets the game at home. That number rose a bit as the game opened at two points in the Yellow Jackets’ favor.

Tbone must love the taste of words.

Not happening. Especially in South Bend.
Especially in South Bend....South Bend is no Death Valley and it is no Morgantown on a night to clinch a birth in the NC so I am not sure where you were going there to make the "especially" comparison.......

I don't see that happening this weekend. Uh, when do you see that game they have no business winning then?

Exactly.
You Never SEE these games coming. That's why they're upsets! That's what makes them special.
No one saw Clemson coming. No one saw 13-9 coming. No one saw Pitt beating Miami last year coming. Etc, Etc.

You have to watch and see. The players can get sky high for these kind of games and play out of their skulls. They do things you don't think they're capable of doing. Hence the upset!

Sadly most if not all of them are in the "no business" category right now... likely will pull out at least one, possibly a Wake that likely hasn't faced a neanderthal offense like ours for many years. Virginia is flaky and foot-shooting prone at times too.

I am not a big conspiracy theory guy on the refs but if there is a questionable call ND will get it. People want them in the National title hunt.

Eh, they're be ACC refs. If Notre Dame gets favorable calls again, it would be more likely because they'll be at home and refs don't want to upset the home fans because they're human.

A number of years ago we were playing ND I think in South Bend,
Things got slow and to fill time ( I guess) one of the announcers mentioned ( off the cuff) that the father of one of the officials was a former ND/QB great? He went on to say the official didn't attend ND but was an ND supporter due to his fathers affiliation with ND.
How does a guy like that get any ND games?

"it's five o'clock somewhere"
Signed: Mr Buffett
Go PITT & CSU Rams!

got it...see where you are going...however I do seem to recall some very very questionable calls in the game in Morgantown by big east refs whose conference had a vested interest in that outcome..

Ok if you consider GT a big upset. I don't it was nothing more than a toss up. Pitt will not beat a ranked team this year is what I should have said. The way Pitt is playing offensively they will be underdogs the rest of the way. Lets here what you have to say after the blow out going to take place this week. I hate seeing this happen but they still have a LOOOOOOOOOOOng way to go on offense and the passing game. I'm still waiting to see this team relevant again.

You said Syracuse would be the “only” upset.
I never said it was a “big” upset.
It wasn’t a “tossup” or pick’em - GTech was favored over Pitt.
That’s a fact .
Pitts offense just put 44 points on the board - that’s good enough to win most games.
I don’t think Pitt will be underdogs in every game - we’ll have to wait and see who’s right.
Pitts a 3 touchdown dog going into this game. A Pitt win would be a HUGE HUGE upset.
I expect Notre Dame to pour it on to impress the Playoff voters but that won’t change anything I have to say.

H2p
