Obligatory stadium thread: MSPaint rendering

Didn’t Steigy have this goof on his internet show/podcast or whatever it is? And he claimed to have a Masters in city planning?

That same “rendering” popped up on my twitter feed today. If this goof does have a masters whatever school he got it from should be shut down. It’s been said before but a high schooler with a set of colored pencils could have done just as good - or better.

So yea it’s likely all bs. But it is near as funny if he actually did have a Masters.

He was on City Council in Philly when they built their stadiums. He knows more about stadium building than anyone here. Of course, so do I. I said Pitt could debt finance a good chunk of the stadium. NTOP and others and said "the numbers dont work." And what are we doing for non-revenue Victory Heights: debt financing.

Considering all the snow melted and those trees have fresh snow, it's fake.

Steigy was pumping this a few weeks ago. He is a moron.
If it's real, this picture is probably just Lamar's rendering of the design. It's not an actual photograph of the billboard itself.

Any idea who this guy is? Has any of his personal story even been verified? You or I could concoct a story and find some dope to bite. Lots of these talking heads need content.

And with that “rendering” I’m not sure why anyone would take him seriously. Even if he is who he says he is his crayon drawings are embarrassing.

Whoever spent on the billboards should have at least updated the website to take into account victory heights.

Before @pittmeister comes in and embarrasses you again, do you want to back up your expertise or just keep shouting at the clouds? Please, we need this so you can disappear onto the BC board forever with a clear conscience.

This fool has money to waste on a billboard, but he can't spend money on a decent website or stadium renderings???

Thanks to the infinite wisdom of the fed - this is a no-brainer nowadays. And municipal bonds are highly sought after to the point of bidding wars. And if Pitt was in the EU with ZIRP, the ECB would in some aspects literally pay Pitt to build the stadium. The crazed world we live in.

Yeah but that would be off campus :D

No he’s not
He’s an associate teacher at a community college
You’re such an easy mark

The guy who has the website, and was posting on our boards is, according to one of his posts, a prof at a community college in the Philly area.

But, I'm not sure anything that guy posted was the truth.

He knows more about stadium building than anyone here. Like the time he tried to make the point that Pitt Stadium could’ve been renovated like Stanford Stadium, by linking a rain water drainage plan for Samford University in Alabama.

This guy has to be an expert in Photoshop before he can be taken seriously.

But seriously, he does make a good point that if Pitt is going to fund Victory Heights via debt financing then they might as well do the same for a new stadium that is part of the plan.

He honestly should have invested more time and money into the website. Heck, have some college kid do it. It is hard to take him seriously with that.

The bottom line is that as I have said for many years, money is no obstacle for building it. Parking is also no obstacle. People make it to work and school every weekday in Oakland. The issue is that Pitt simply does not have the will. They are comfortable fielding a team and doing the minimum at Heinz.

The real irony that this came out today is that the news also came out today that Temple has extended their lease at the Linc for another five years, with an option to extend it five more after that. Because their on campus stadium plan is floundering so badly.

The truth is that Pitt admins don't want a stadium because they aren't committed to having an annual Top 20 program. The more they build in Oakland, the less it becomes possible, which is what they want.

I think the money would have been better spent on three billboards. It worked in Ebbing, Missouri.

“Raped While Dying,”
“And Still No Arrests?”
“How Come, Chief Willoughby?”

Maybe:
“Invest in Diving,”
“And Still No Arena?”
“How Come, Lyke AD?”
