With Comcast adding popular streaming "channels," Netflix and YouTube, it was only a matter of time before they added ESPN3.

I am typing this while I watching an all Texas A&M battle. Their Kingsville campus is playing their Commerce campus. Why am I watching it? Because I can.

No more hooking up your laptop or phone to the TV to watch those ESPN3 Pitt games. It kinda makes the start of ACCN anti-climactic now, though, as you will be able to watch every ACC basketball and football game on your TV through Comcast.

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have graduated HS with the mass availability of all these sports.

I thought you were educated, moreso cause you are a Democrat. Afterall, everyone knows Democrats are more educated.

Technically, I am not and https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.wa...ats-more-educated-republicans-pew-research-c/

Do you mean it is part of their regular programming? If so where?

Yes. Its a channel on your TV now. Both ESPN3 and ACC Network Extra. Obviously it does not have a channel number because it is not a linear channel but there are many other ways to find the channel. Either in the on demand menu or typing in a search for it are the easiest.

Why would you want to? That's a game that I could see watching 2 plays of. lol.

So I wonder if the Pitt game is possibly available tomorrow? Basically, I'm not sitting in front of my PC or laptop at noon, so I probably won't see it, now if I could get a DVR of it that's another story.

I was scanning the TV listings and since Pitt's not on and I already missed Kingsville vs. Commerce, I might watch Towson vs. Morgan State! Local battle, and my daughter is probably applying to both of these schools.

I did not know this - thanks for the heads up. Can you DVR the ESPN 3 programming?

But if you go to SPORTS>FOOTBALL it doesn't show up on the listings? But it's ON DEMAND? Can you see a replay-or just live, like you can with ESPN3 on line? when you type a search, you type "ESPN3"? Because if you type college football, you'll get every game on the regular channels. And can you then DVR that ?

Yeah, we (I) need a technology for dummy aging Gen Xers in the year 2018 tutorial ...

You dont need to DVR ESPN 3 stuff, you can always go back in the app for atleast a week and watch replay as soon as the game is over.

Yes, I know, I've done that on a computer, but SMF is talking about doing it on a TV Cable box, I think? I didn't know you could do that?

All he is talking about is an APP on COMCAST.
Inside the APP is LIVE and REPLAY...
Pick what you need.

What's new about that? I thought he meant you could access with just the cable box or ON DEMAND, not using internet?

I have a roku and I was trying to find the ACC network app there and couldn't find it there. hopefully it was just my stupidity because I can't see how Roku does not offer it.

You can watch replays on the phone or computer but it does not look like ESPN3 will make replays or DVR'ing available through Comcast. If you want to watch ESPN3/ACCNE content through Comcast on your TV, it has to be live

Thats why its easier to just have a firestick. Download WATCHESPN app and game is on.
This is silly anyways, people get confused with ACCN name.
ACCN is a channel inside ESPN3.. lol..

That would be me. LOL I thought there was a new app with ACCN

There are several different ways to access it. Go to On Demand , then sports. Your first option is then ESPN3.

My favorite way to access college football games is to press guide on my remote and then on the screen switch the guide view from "all channels" to "sports." Then choose "NCAAF." It will list every single game on every single network starting with Syracuse/WMU tonight. If you scroll over, you will see the first ESPN3 game is Furman @ Clemson tomorrow at noon, though technically its listed as ACCNE.

ACCNE you mean.

The reason they brand it is that is because eventually while ESPN shifts to streaming, they will most likely offer streaming networks such as ACCNE to any cord cutter for a monthly price as they have just begun to do with ESPN+

I will look, when I get home. Mine may be different, like I just have one "FOOTBALL"- pro, college, CFL, NFL, Arena all show up under that, no option for "NCAAF"

I just went on my Comcast on demand. Hit Sports. Scrolled over till it came to Pitt-Albany where it said "airs tomorrow at 3:30". If this old f**k can do it, anyone can. But you can't DVR it on demand.

Sling channel offers it. $25/month, plus I added Slung’s cloud dvr option for another $5/month

3:30? I thought the game was at noon?

I wonder if it will still be available after it's over? Like stuff on ESPN3 usually is?

It has "other times" listed so I imagine there are several replays.

As documented, people become conservative the older they get and the further away from college they get. But they also become technologically challenged. So help this dumb conservative out...do they archive games on Comcast? I watch my daughters games on espn3 via the internet and Apple TV. But can we go into Comcast and watch a game of hers or a pitt men’s soccer game at any time?

I get WatchESPN through SkyTV, but it is the Aussie programming and they will have only a few NCAA games available. They haven't listed the games for tomorrow yet, but I am not hopeful. I will be stuck with audio only unless I can find an "unofficial" site to watch.

I think it is silly that there isn't a pay-per-view option for individual games. I would pay to watch it.

Thanks for the heads up on watchESPN on Comcast TV! Just checked and It is right there as SMF says, On Demand, Sports, and there it is as the very first option. Great to know!

Wonder if they'd have some way to black out local games like ours over the TV though?

I have been watching concerts and old college games and NFL Weekly highlights through my 60" TV via You Tube without any special connection with Comcast Infinity. I noticed now with Netflix and You Tube, ESPN3 or Watch ESPN is now a network option. So this will be great! This old dude has at least figured this part out.

This is great news. I have one of those fancy Xfinity remotes that you can speak into. Just said “ACC” into the remote and the icon showed up. Previously I had to run it through Apple TV which wasn’t a big deal, but this makes it very easy!

I used to be a DirecTV disciple, but honestly other than Sunday Ticket it’s useless to me now. Comcast is really strong with its technology.
