OT: "A 360° camera view from the top of Mt. Everest"

That's a pretty cool camera angle.

I have a weird fascination with this stuff and followed Cory Richards and Adrian Ballinger on their somewhat famous attempts. Even with months of training and being seasoned alpinists, they each failed and wisely knew their limit but both did manage to summit without supplemental oxygen eventually.

Watching these things makes me feel sick just sitting int the couch.

Actually, not that different from watching a Pitt game.

Does Mt. Everest use script?

I don't even know what I'm looking at because nothing in that camera view makes any sense.

With 360 cameras you have different viewing/editing options. This particular setting gives the view of literally being on top of the world. It shrinks everything down, I believe this setting or view is called tiny planet. I would like this better if they put up the stitched video on YouTube so you can experience the actual 360 view normally and navigate around the view.

What's up with the CFA at the Pete being closed on gamedays? Wouldn't that be a way to increase attendance? Free ticket with purchase from 7-9

What game days has it been closed for? I see people walking around with CFA bags in the Pete all the time. It was open last Saturday for sure, because I went up the escalator and saw it was open.

nothing about this looks fun to me, at all. at least it keeps the sherpas employed.
So many have and do manage to do it now, and there’s so much advanced tech available to the climbers who do, that I don’t think it could be seen as big as an accomplishment any more. Certainly still a difficult feat, but you’re really just another climber now.

After watching that video I ended up on YouTube and watched a bunch of climbers reach the summit. It's a spectacular view from up there and I give anyone who does it credit for taking on such a treacherous climb.
