OT: Best line in a song

So lock up your daughter
Lock up your wife
Lock up your back door
And run for your life
The man is back in town

In some cases, there’s a song where all of the lyrics (in their entirety) tell such a great story that printing a few lines wouldn’t do it justice:

I used to love her, but I had to kill her
I had to put her, six feet under, and I can still hear her complain

2 Minutes To Midnight

Kill for gain or shoot to maim
But we don't need a reason
The Golden Goose is on the loose
And never out of season
Blackened pride still burns inside
This shell of bloody treason
Here's my gun for a barrel of fun
For the love of living death

The killer's breed or the Demon's seed,
The glamour, the fortune, the pain,
Go to war again, blood is freedom's stain
Don't you pray for my soul anymore?

"I remember my Uncle Mike,
Combing his hair in the mirror,

All the while the records were playing,
I was a little kid standin there,

Listenin to Jerry Lee Lewis, and The Cadillacs,
While he greased it all up,
And slicked all back"

But you know you got to stick to your guns
When it all comes down
Cause sometimes you can't choose
It's like heads they win
Tails you're gonna lose

Win big - mama's fallen angel
Lose big - living out her lies
Wants it all - mama's fallen angel
Lose it all, rolling the dice of her life

Don't switch the blade on the guy in shades oh no
Don't masquerade with the guy in shades oh no
I can't believe it!
'Cause you got it made with the guy in shades oh no

They say that money
Can’t buy love in this world
But it’ll buy you a half pound of cocaine
And a sixteen-year old girl

I see you standin'
Standin' on your own
It's such a lonely place for you
For you to be
If you need a shoulder
Or if you need a friend
I'll be here standing
Until the bitter end
No one needs the sorrow
No one needs the pain
I hate to see you
Walking out there
Out in the rain
So don't chastise me
Or think I, I mean you harm
Of those that take you leave you strung out
Much too far
Baby yeah

Jealousy, turning saints into the sea
Swimming through sick lullabies
Choking on your alibis
But it's just the price I pay
Destiny is calling me
Open up my eager eyes
'Cause I'm Mr. Brightside

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

And did those feet in ancient times
Trod on America's pastures of green?
And did that anthropocentric god
Wane with their thoughts and beliefs all unseen?
I don't think so, he's up there with the others laying low
Vying with those, who you've traded your life to to bless your soul
Have they told you how to think
Cleansed your mind of sepsis and autonomy?
Or have you escaped from scrutiny
And regaled yourself with depravity?
Now we all see, 'Religion is just synthetic frippery
Unnecessary in our expanding global cultural efficiency'

Was just listening to an old Kinks tune . I think it's "Talk to you later" .
One line cracks me up . In the song he moves in with girl and it doesn't end like he thought .
"Well it's been 6 months . She hasn't shut up once ."
Pretty funny lyric .

Anyone else have a favorite ?
I turned twenty one in prison
doing life without parole

no one could steer me right
but mama tried

I've been crawling on my belly
Clearing out what could've been
I've been wallowing in my own chaotic
And insecure delusions
I wanna feel the change consume me
Feel the outside turning in
I wanna feel the metamorphosis and
Cleansing I've endured within
In my shadow
My shadow
Change is coming, now is my time
Listen to my muscle memory
Contemplate what I've been clinging to
Forty-six and two ahead of me

I went home with a waitress the way I always do
How was I to know she was with the russians, too?

I was gambling in havana, I took a little risk
Send lawyers, guns, and money
Dad, get me out of this, hiyah!

An innocent bystander
Somehow I got stuck between a rock and a hard place
And I'm down on my luck
Yes, I'm down on my luck
Well, I'm down on my luck

I'm hiding in honduras, I'm a desperate man
Send lawyers, guns, and money
The shit has hit the fan

Send lawyers, guns, and money
Send lawyers, guns, and money
Send lawyers, guns, and money, hiyah!
Send lawyers, guns, and money, ow!

When some sweet hog mama with a face like a gent
Said my get up and go must've got up and went

My two favorites:

Yes, they're sharing a drink they call loneliness, but it's better than drinking alone.

So often times it happens, that we live our life in chains, and we never even know we have the key.
