My first hero was Jim Pagliaroni, catcher for the BUCS in the mid1960s. My dad and I would listen to the BUCS on KDKA Radio on our back porch and listen to Pag hit hon runs. Some of the best times of my life with m dad.

Chuck Noll was impressive guy. I spoke to him once in Sewickly. I was in 20s and wanted to talk football. But I spoke about going to school to become a teacher and he just talked about that, because his son was a teacher. I walk past his and the Chief's grave almost every day actually. Solid local hero, caleco.

Bill Mazeroski. Was a kid but went to World Series celebrations dawntown. Wild time in the burg in 1960.

Couldn’t wait for my first pirate game to actually see Clemente play. 1965. I was 9. That would be my choice.
Ditto. August 14, 1960. Also 9 years old. Upper deck, right field stands looking strait down on my all time hero. I'll never forget walking into that drab old steel and concrete edifice then looking out at the most vivid green I have ever seen.

Exactly
That green....I picture it as if looking at it yesterday.
I could not believe what I was seeing.....it just stuns a kid, well it did me too.
