Getting out shot 16-3 he'd better be .Fleury....damn good first period.
You mean again?they won't win the cup with fleury in net, don't let one game fool you
You mean again?
almost a decade ago, antimi niemi has a more recent cup
you wanted him in net last year too even when murray was playing well
fleury is the most overrated pittsburgh athlete ever, if you read HF forums which is hockey fans from all over the world they wonder why the pens like fleury so much and didn't move on from him years ago

The pens last year would have won the cup with Zatkoff in goal...and in fact won a game with him. They played a very Tortarella style game like the Rangers used to be packing it in and blocking every shot possible. Murray was positionally sound, but didn't really steal any games....and that's the thing with Murray, he's not athletic enough nor does he have the glove hand to steal any games for a team. Fleury over his time was hung out to dry by the team and stole games.....there's a reason Jarry was/is considered the better goalie prospect by some penguins scouts...he's more like Fleury.
-Thank you for your opinion, but no. Murray had a 2.0 GAA last year in the playoffs. That is so far and above lights out you dont get it.
What game did he steal that the pens should have lost with another goalie between the pipes?
-Honestly? Are you kidding? Watch games 1 through 6 in the Washington series last year and start with that
I'm done. You don't know what it means to steal a game. Back and forth with you is pointless.

I don't.
I'm glad he's on our roster
i'm not
should've been traded 2 years ago when he still had some value, he has none now which should tell you how "good" he is
-We have to hope brother he shows up this year. He was good in 2009. We are going to need it this year without Letang. Like I said, he was a rock game 1, even though the shots were not all that tough, he was still a rock that held ground.
-And we wouldnt of won shit without Murray last year
his numbers weren't that good for a cup winning goalie, i think it was among the worst save percentages for a winner ever
2009 was a long time ago
so because zatkoff won ONE game that means the pens would've won the cup no matter who was in the net? really dude?
murray stole a game against washington, he stopped about 47 of 49 shots while the pens had less than 30 shots on net, no way they win that series with beach ball fleury in net and they would've lost to tampa too if he played game 6 and 7
murray doesn't have to be athletic, he is so fundamentally sound he makes it look easy while fluery makes a routine save look like it was difficult
funny how every time fleury stinks it was somebody elses fault here in yinzerville, what a coincidence the pens win the cup when he is taken out of net
-He was respectable. 2.6 GAA against with a 91% save percentage. I have to give extra credit because that redwings team we beat was an absolute powerhouse.
Funny how Pens won their 2 cups during seasons when they change coaches and their approach to how they play defensively....both when Bylsma won and when Sullivan won. If they continue to play this way, they'll win again with either Fleury or Murray in net this year.
Wow, you really are retarded. Might as well fire Rutherford and hire one of those "hockey expert" posters.almost a decade ago, antimi niemi has a more recent cup

Last year's run had more to do with the defense that was played in front of Murray as anything else.
Fleury didn't have that luxury in the first period Wednesday night and the Pens went to the locker room tied 0-0. I'd say that was a pretty valuable contribution.
Hahahahahahaha. Wow, you really are. You have now made the two dumbest statements in the history of mankind. He's definitely had a couple bad playoffs, but nothing you have said is even remotely close to a half-educated opinion. So you don't like him and you don't think he's very good, nothing wrong that being your opinion. If that was all you said, fine, not a really a big deal if you feel that way. But your exaggerations are so far out in left field you clearly are miserable and over-emotional and have no ability to think rationally whatsoever.i'm not retarded, you are just a retarded fanboy of a player that has hurt the pens more than helped them over the last 8 years in the playoffs, probably because he's "such a nice guy"
rutherford was pretty much let go by carolina and was close to being let go by the Pens, since then everything he has touched has turned to gold but lets not pretend he knows everything

You said he was "the most overrated athlete in Pittsburgh sports history". That is honestly that most moronic thing anyone has ever said. That is nowhere even near a logical opinion. You left out the 2 years against the rangers when he was the only player that showed up, because well why say anything that ruins your insane point. Half those other years, we either had the entire team injured or the whole team just played like complete garbage. Like I said though, I can't argue he has had some bad years. 2013 just to scratch the surface, it was obvious vokoun gave them a better chance to win.wait a minute i'm miserable? you're the one that resorted to name calling because i'm not a big fan of your hero
why did you type out many "HAHA" when you are clearly bothered my my post?
over emotional? take a look in the mirror son
fleury has been the weak link in the playoffs since 2010
below 900 save percentage in the loss against a bad montreal team in 2010
gave up a 3 - 1 series lead against tampa in 2011
let in countless beach balls against philly in 2012, that series is laughed at by hockey fans across the world
2013 almost blew the series to a bad islanders team only to be replaced by tomas vokoun and he played great
tell me how i'm wrong, show me your "rational" hockey facts or you can freak out again and call me names in defense of your hero who probably doesn't know or care that you exist

So even just going since 2010 and the 3 bad years he had you mentioned, he had 2 great series the 2 years after. But yet again, the star players for the penguins didn't show up. They didn't show up the years before that either, but nobody would dare to say they were the weak link, it's so much easier to blame the goalie.
I'll even go as far as saying as bad as you think he is, whatever you're entitled to that opinion. I won't even argue that he's been average in the playoffs for the most part, I'll agree he had some god awful years. But seriously, "the most overrated athlete in Pittsburgh sports history". You are certifiably insane for that thought even crossing your mind. Like I said, you get so emotional when you think he lets in goals he should've stopped, that you go so far overboard into actually thinking that.
Btw, it's just an anonomyous message board, I'm sure we could have a much more civilized debate in person. But I'm sorry, I was just absolutely in shock that you seriously made such an insane statement. So I'll try this again, what has anyone ever said that makes him as overrated as you claim?
