what did you all think?
I thought it did a good job closing things out.
Infinity War was better IMO.

Such as?I hate when a certain ability is brought into a universe. Ironically you can't take it back.
Pretty obviously referring to the time travel.Such as?
I loved everything except for the part on Vormir. Massive, massive plot hole.
There really was only one way, and I dont think they had the balls to do it. Pepper Potts. I dont think Disney/Marvel had it in them to do it.I knew that was going to be a problem and I was wondering how they were going to fix it. It was obvious what was going to happen but there was no way to not make it into a plot hole
I dont consider it a plot hole, but I kinda wished they spent at least some freaking time on him replacing the stones. You could almost have an entire movie out of literally just that.I thought it was perfect. One of the best movies I’ve ever seen. It tied emotions with action, the humor in it wasn’t over done. And I thought the plot as a whole was great. Yea they figured out to time travel too easily. I also thought the whole they left with Cap was interesting. But I thought that was the best way to send him out

The way they did end up doing it just makes 0 sense. She wasnt the one he loved most, and even more specifically, he did not sacrifice her. Literally breaking both ofthe 2 rules of the soulstone.

It was pretty obvious for a long time that the movie was going to be a time travel movie, which I’ve never been a fan of.Pretty obviously referring to the time travel.
The problem is the only ramifications for time travel they laid out were specifically if the stones weren't replace exactly at the same point they were taken. Otherwise yeah, that would be. It's kind of a super easy out, but at least they stuck to that rule.I mean it defies the law of some travel they set up. Him living a life with Peggy defies the life Peggy lived
Yeah, it's just too convoluted, and essentially every single thing moving forward its "just go back in time, idiots".It was pretty obvious for a long time that the movie was going to be a time travel movie, which I’ve never been a fan of.
But they’ve never really said who Peggy married... right?I mean it defies the law of some travel they set up. Him living a life with Peggy defies the life Peggy lived
But they’ve never really said who Peggy married... right?
RightShe married someone that Steve saved from the the Hydra barracks in Captain America: The first Avenger. Its been speculated to who that was but she married someone he saved
Would it have made more sense to send banner and widow together for the soul stone?
The guy in the video isn’t the only one. There’s plenty of available stuff to read regarding Larson as a potentially unlikable person. And while I found Renner’s shade that he threw at her funny, it was unprofessional the way he acted toward a coworker publically.I just wanna say to I just saw this video and no matter how many “ Wows” and “ whoooo what a burn wowwees” this dude comes up with I’m not buying this massive sideshow he’s implying...it’s pretty ridiculous
This dude who made this video looks to me like he just doesn’t like Brie Larson and is imagining and blowing up slights and “burns” etc... dude if you don’t like the actress say so and move on ...
It looks pretty pathetic to me to be honest who has time to make videos of imaginary slights?
Jesus watch the movies and their portrayal of characters... this who doesn’t like who stuff is literally Mickey Mouse crap
Who knows.I still say this is some BS white boy overreaction to supposed diversity characters... and I say it as a white man (used to be boy)....
Never mind the fact Carol Danvers has in fact always been a woman...(?!?)
Some like with the Ghostbusters situation are getting pissed off over nothing and looking deep for flaws. You could almost make an argument for GB .. it’s a stupid argument... but an argument nonetheless...mind you but the original creation was dudes ...so...
But as stated Danvers Captain Marvel has always been a female character.
Seeing all this history my guess is Larson makes a remark about wanting to see press Corp consisting of more than 40 yr old dudes... knowing how GB went and how much press was devoted to Wonder Woman ( shock!! gasp!!! a woman lead?!?) again never mind that WW goes back to World War 2...
And Reddit users ...still not over GB decided to pounce...
I can’t see how any secure male could have been offended by Larsons comments in the first place???
Again, maybe I’m missing something? It’s entirely possible as I felt the film was complicated with all the time travel. But why have Hawk go there with her? Why not Have Banner go and have him sacrifice her? Wouldn’t that make more sense? There really was only one way, and I dont think they had the balls to do it. Pepper Potts. I dont think Disney/Marvel had it in them to do it.

True dat she was pretty badass for sureWho knows.
There are strange people out there. Surely there are toolbags that get offended by a strong woman I suppose. But I can’t imagine 99% of people really care.
But what people find annoying, myself included, is Hollywood using their pulpit to push agendas. Larson feels it’s her duty to use her celebrity to push an agenda. Renner, literally sitting right beside her, essentially said it’s not their job to do it and he chooses not to. Because I agree with him, I thought it was funny. But on the other hand I thought it was bush of him to act the way he did. Larson looked angry in many of the interviews I saw too.
But none of this affects my feelings on a film. I’ve known that guys like ruffalo and Evans are essentially political activists. It is what it is. I enjoy their work.
Speaking of strong women, I love Wanda. Hope we see more of her moving forward.
She is. And sexy. One of the more powerful avengers for sure. I loved the scene in Infinity war when she came onto the battlefield and the Lupita Nyong'o character was in shock after witnessing her powers. It was one of those signature comic relief moments that I’ve enjoyed about these films.True dat she was pretty badass for sure
Yeah it would make more sense. I mean, they clearly went thru the effort to show how distraught Barton was over the loss of his family, to sort of miminimize that was just odd.Again, maybe I’m missing something? Just back.
These are my off the cuff thoughts: I liked the movie but didn't "love" the movie. Maybe I need to let it sink in? I will say the 3 hours moved along quickly. Agree that time travel was the only way this could have wrapped up.
The ending was very, very sweet. We also liked the fact that at Iron Man's funeral they brought the kid back from Iron Man 3. It was a nice touch.
I don't want this come off as salacious, but I'm pretty sure they are setting up Captain Marvel's character as being a lesbian. Makes zero difference to me, but I hope they just come out with it. I thought that was the undertone in Captain Marvel and I feel even more strongly about it after Avengers.
Other than that, one thing that jumped out at us at the end is wouldn't Captain have to be about 100 years old? Or even older? I think the producers just kind of slid by the fact that Peggy had been married to someone else when Captain went to visit her in Winter Soldier.
Kind of missed not having more Nick Fury!
I wasn’t a fan of the Valkyrie character in Ragnorak. I’m not sure I even picked up on the lesbian angle, but it was more due to her stumbling around and passing out due to her alcoholism. Not sure why the fascination with giving Asgardians a disposition to being an alcoholic (also Thor in Endgame).I agree on the Carol Danvers idea ( EDIT- also Valkyrie we know already is) and there’s others already out there in Marvel currently (in the books) .
And THAT is the likely true reason for all the trolling that caused Rotten Tomatoes to institute new rules on reviews in addition to what I said about these obsessed dudes who did the same thing with Ghost Busters and to a lesser extent Wonder Woman
Fans of Alien might recall the earliest versions of the screenplay didn’t even call for ANY woman let alone the lead ... of course that was changed
I can’t imagine a storyline of the original Alien without Ripley kicking butt
I think it’s probably got something to do with the Nordic Viking origins of the gods they believed in...I wasn’t a fan of the Valkyrie character in Ragnorak. I did not know that about Valkyrie. I do know the actor who portrays her, Tessa Thompson, is bisexual in real life. Interesting.I agree on the Carol Danvers idea ( EDIT- also Valkyrie we know already is) and there’s others already out there in Marvel currently (in the books) .

I noticed the kitten cut that Danvers had. I didn’t think gay, I just didn’t think about it at all with all the confusing time travel going on. I just figured she picked up an 80’s hair style somewhere in her journeys. But then again, she wasn’t the one doing the time traveling.I did not know that about Valkyrie. I do know the actor who portrays her, Tessa Thompson, is gay in real life. Interesting.
Inclusion is a good thing and I hope no one makes a big deal out of this.
Valkyrie in the comics is Bisexual as well.I did not know that about Valkyrie. I do know the actor who portrays her, Tessa Thompson, is bisexual in real life. Interesting.

The hair cut in Endgame mirrors the current hair style of Danvers in the comics. I would say thats why they went that route.I noticed the kitten cut that Danvers had. I’m with you on the like, no love, feeling. I have a game I’m watching at 11:30 and then taking the family back again to see it a 2nd time. I’m sure I’ll like it more this time. The movie had a ton of expectations placed on it by all of us because of its overall significance. That’s probably why we weren’t thrilled with it. We expected too much. And frankly, Infinity War was so well done, that topping that would be really tough.Just back.

I quit reading the comic books long before Black Widow showed up so maybe I missed stuff in the published history. But, there was always a strong emotional undertone/history between Natasha and Barton. I was surprised when Barton semi-retired and was shown as married with children.Yeah it would make more sense. I mean, they clearly went thru the effort to show how distraught Barton was over the loss of his family, to sort of miminimize that was just odd.
