I watched this series last night. Not a good look for UF or the Patriots.

This guy shot at least 4 people in 3 separate incidents. He was conditioned to be untouchable as a UF football player and he acted as though he was.

It was an an interesting show, but some big holes I thought they did not cover.

One question for the boards legal minds or someone who stayed in a Holiday Inn express: How is it that they could change the law on sentence abatement and then impose it retroactively? This reeked of political interference by the Patriots to avoid a payout???

Overall, I thought the show was done well, and having not followed this case all that much, I learned quite a bit about it.

I thought it was great. There was no way on planet earth the Pats would be made to be on the hook for a cup of clam chowder let alone any real money

usn panther.. apparently you never heard about joe kennedy, bill McCormack, and all the polls who ran mass. like a fiefdom. if you had the political will-or the cash-everything and everyone gets done in the bay state. don't forget gov. Dukakis.

I'm not a criminal lawyer, but ex post facto prohibition applies to characterization of behavior as a crime, but it does not apply to punishment for something already deemed to be a crime but for which you have yet to be convicted.
Listen, we hire people to do jobs and as much as we talk about it, we care little for what they do outside of why we pay them.
A lot of people call Trump a pig, but many of those same people think Bill Clinton was not a pig. Gator and Patriot fans use the same filter.
Germans voted the Nazis into a position of power and when Hindenburg died, they stepped aside. Hitler was THE LEADER right up until the time he blew his head off. Then, few in Germany ever voted for him and Germans thought Jews were sent to some vacation spot.
Hundreds if not thousands of people heard rumors about Sandusky, but it didn't become a problem until he wasn't coaching State.
Humans tolerate terrible people if they produce and if they will be ostracized for calling them out.
Hernandez is just another example of a guy with serious problems that was able to do something extremely well.
In the not too distant future, AB might be the subject of such a show.
I worked for a crooked CEO, but he and his yes man COO owned the majority of the voting stock.
I stopped an illegal transaction or three and poof, I was fired.
If someone is stuffing pockets with money, few people will complain about his wife beating until he stops making them money.
Humans suck.
Just the nature of the beast.

More truth spoken here then most want to believe or admit.

I posted this in the more general “new series” thread, but I watched episode 1 last night. Really good, although I’m curious why they needed to address the topic they got into at the end of the episode. I don’t want to spoil it, but it involves his HS best friend and the QB of his team. Maybe there is later relevance, but it seemed like an odd break from the actual story.

It was a good series and it's actually based on coverage done by the Boston Globe. Last year, I listened to the podcast which was really good also.

In regards to the topic you're referring to, I hate when accusations like that are made after the person is dead and the person cannot defend themselves. And I'm not defending Hernandez, but just speaking in general.

They try to say that he committed suicide, 2 days after a revelation was made on the radio, but I don't know if they can be linked.

If they are linked it’s too bad someone didn’t make a revelation on radio 10-15 years sooner.

I really wasn't a fan of his high school friend and his dad. It seemed like they were trying to milk their 15 minutes of fame. I don't know if I believe their story.

I loved the mom on the phone: "Just give me a million dollars."

Seeing the highlight of the brother running in that two-point conversions against us from 2006 was rough.

After watching the whole thing, I agree with this.

The premise is he struggled with his sexuality in an environment that was not conducive to being gay(both football and fake thug life) that contributed to his sociopathic behavior. The bottom line is he was a serial murderer who could catch a football.
