Well, Mel Kiper said he's disgusted. Maybe Mel should become an NFL GM and then he can draft him.

What a tool. He should be forced to retire. He's become a lazy know nothing living off his past.

It's hilarious how bent these prognosticators are over a mediocre QB who's a headache waiting to happen.

He was kind of the first one to try to make it a business and ESPN bought into it. That was sort of ESPN's model for a long time. Every sport had it's own "face", on the network. Berman with the NFL highlights (although he was one of the regular reporters, too), Vitale with college basketball, Melrose for hockey, Corso for college football, Gammons for baseball. Kiper became that draft guy. The sideshow to Berman during the draft. He's annoying and I guess that sells.

Hell for years Sportscenter was just constantly on , when the anchors were actually good and fun personalities.
But then ESPN tried to save money by not paying them - while most left or only do certain event commentary (like van pelt and the masters )

Van Pelt "hosts" SportCenter most nights of the week, essentially every night that they have games on beforehand. For example, he'll be on tonight after the NHL games. He's on after NBA games or big college basketball games. He's on after Monday night football. And so on. He's their regular nighttime SportsCenter guy probably at least four or five nights a week.

Not in the evenings though, later at night, after the game they are showing is over. Usually he comes on around 11:00, but if the game they are showing goes longer than that he comes on afterwards. For instance tonight, they have the Blues - Jets game on at 9:30. So it will be over around midnight (assuming no overtime). He'll do the SportsCenter after the game.
