Not for nothing, and I love the topic, but how does one finally comment on a post that is 4 years old? I mean how do you even find or look for that?

I was there on Saturday. Didn't know it was wvu?? Had "weck" sammich. Isn't that a Buffalo dish? My ribs were great, better than anything else in the area. (If there is better, let me know.)Bella Frutteto in Franklin Park. Best Italian around and a very loyal following. Husband and wife owners and wife had some serious health issues, so they had to close the restaurant down. But they still have a catering and carry-out location next door to Soergel's, where an old Bruster's ice cream stand once was. Their original restaurant is replaced by some ribs place from WV. Not going there.

The Real McCoy was awesome. Not a restaurant closure, but when the Lamplighter stopped their Sunday buffet, it was a sad day. For $13 you could get anything brunch related plus prime rib and desserts. All you can eat.
When I was a kid, every birthday was at Ponderosa. I still remember being 12 and going to Ponderosa. Couldn't wait to raid the ice cream bar after dinner. Then came home and unwrapped my new Nintendo game, Dragon Warrior IV. My parents watched me and my brother play it for awhile, and they never watched us play Nintendo. Fun times.
I miss Mauro's in Jeannette. The O, obviously. Fuel and Fuddle.
The closing of the arcade bakery in Kaufmann's downtown was a local travesty.
Side Show Pizza in Greensburg was a kids dream. Loved that place.
The Real McCoy, south side.
Apparently Smoke closed. Taco place in Homestead that moved to Lawrenceville.
Valhalla, downtown near the strip.
Squirrel Hill eat n park for the potato pancakes.
Red Star, Greensburg train station.
Steak n shake.
Many more I can't remember.
